I had a person that I could call my father.
It surprised us when William came back disoriented and panicking. As soon as he closed the door, he told us to pack and we should do it fast, because we're leaving. We asked why, but he just told us to hurry.
So we did. We hurried down to our rooms and packed our stuffs.
I took the blanket on the bed and laid it down. Then I went to the chest and took some clothes and the gifts I received last Christmas and the day they designated as my birthday. I tied two of the four ends across my things in the middle, then did another knot to secure it. then I took both of the remaining ends on my body, tying it by my chest and securing it with another knot. Then i run towards the closet and took my cloak. Then before I run outside the room, I saw my bow and arrows, deciding to take it with me, along with my dagger.
When I got out of the room, I saw torches, sharp edge poles and angry people screaming profanities and curses. Calling us bad names, accusing us, that we are some weirdo, occult that would kill them so they would destroy us first before we do so first. Which is really nonsense since were living peacefully before this ever happened.
Then I remembered.
The way my mum protected us from the mob. When she told us to hide when they finally destroyed the door, carrying torches and sharp things. When she cried when they got her and killed in front of our eyes. When they burned the house and left to watch it on the safe viewing side, giving us a chance to get out on the back door, only for us to got caught.
I had four siblings.
Andrew, James, Abigail, and Peter.
They were able to gain unto us. Catch us. Though we never fall down without a fight. Andrew was able to get away and fought his way out first, running towards Peter's captor who had him inside a fish net, squirming and fighting his way back. He was able to free him, so I run towards them as fast as i could after I was able put the light out of my captor. He shoved Peter towards me and told us to run. I reluctantly do so, as more angry people came.
"Run, Arthur. I promise that we'll get back to the both of you. Run and never turn around." So run I did. Off to the forest, but someone noticed as and run after us. So I did my best and run as fast as my little feet could carry me, adrenaline rushing through my veins, as I pray to God, if he exist, to at least save Peter. I'll give Him everything, just let my brothers and sister be safe.
I know, I'm aware that I won't be able to win if ever they caught us. So forcing all of my energy out of me, I run to make far distance from them so I could at least have time to hide Peter. And thank God, I was able to do so.
I saw an empty den, more like a burrow, with a big enough hole where Peter could fit.
"Arthur, don't leave... Please..." he begged, tears constantly falling and trailing down to his wet cheeks. I could see fear and desperation in his eyes. I can't believe that my little brother would someday beg for me to stay. This cheeky brat who's hobby is to make my life miserable and lovely as it could ever be.
"Shhh. Listen to me, Peter. You know that I would never lie to you, right?" I whispered as i heard the men's voice getting closer. He nodded as he painfully muffle his sobs.
