Finally ; Harry Potter [1]

Chapter 6

The trio and Robyn made their way down to Hagrid's hut for their first lesson with him. The buzz of what had just happened in Professor Trelawney's class hadn't died down and was the hot new talk in the castle. It was also the conversational topic for the boy who was cursed with the Grim as they trudged down to Hagrid's. They were excited but their minds still warned them of Harry's danger.

"Death omens. Honestly. If you ask me, Divination's a very wooly discipline. Now Ancient Runes. That's a fascinating subject." Hermione tried to lighten the mood and it seemed to be working, by the look of contentment on Harry's face.

"Ancient Runes? Exactly how many classes are you taking this term?" Ron asked accusingly.

At times like this, Robyn was so glad she had friends. It made her feel so much happier. Robyn let out a laugh at Hermione and Ron, feeling content with life but yet the thought of the Grim kept entering her mind, putting her on edge.

"A fair few." Hermione shrugged.

"Hang on. Ancient Runes is the same time as Divination. You'd have to be in two classes at once." Ron inputted, his voice held confusion. Robyn thought he was right for a minute but the thought of Hermione being in two classes at once told her it must have been a mix up.

"Don't be silly. How could anyone be in two classes at once?" The tone in Hermione's voice told Robyn that this wasn't the end of it. It was almost sarcastic. It made Robyn grin at the look of utter confusion and curiosity on Ron's face.

"Broaden your minds..." Hermione laughed, making fun of Trelawney, causing Robyn to crack a smile. But she also saw Harry smile aswell, lifting her mood even more.

They carried on their adventure to Hagrid's hut, laughing and joking. Robyn was getting more and more confident around them and it made her happy. She was finally happy.

Students gathered around Hagrid and his hut. Some were happy to see Hagrid finally teaching but others were not so happy about the ordeal and did their best to make Hagrid's life a misery. And they were the Slytherin's.

"C'mon now, get a move on! Got a real treat for yeh. Great lesson comin' up. Follow me." Robyn found a grin appearing on her face as she followed the rest of the class to the edge of the Forbidden Forest.

In the day, the Forbidden Forest looked harmless, beautiful even but it was a different picture at night. Eerie mist filled the place, giving anyone chills. The trees cast shadows but it wasn't the nature that made it scary, it was the creature's that lurked inside that put everyone on edge.

Hagrid led Robyn and the class towards a small paddock just by the side of the Forbidden Forest. In the paddock, a freestanding iron rack hangs with dead ferrets, buzzing with flies. Nearby was a pumpkin patch.

"Gather 'round. Find yerself a spot. That's it. Now, firs' thing yeh'll want ter do is open yer books-" Hagrid said cheerfully, not even faltered by the snobby voice of Draco Malfoy.

"And exactly how do we do that?" Draco spat, looking at Hagrid in disgust. Draco had never been kind to Hagrid, always trying to get him fired.

"Crikey. Didn' yeh know? All yeh've got ter do is stroke 'em. Look --" Hagrid exclaimed, looking at the class in shock before taking Hermione's book and showing them all what to do. The book immediately fell still and let out a noise almost like a purr of pleasure. Hagrid then proceeded to open the book, showing everyone. He then passed it back to Hermione while the rest were left to deal with theirs on their own.

Robyn took her book and peered at it curiously, it's three beady black eye's blinking now and then. It squirmed in her hands, trying to break loose of the seal keeping it closed. Robyn smiled lightly and stroked the spine of the book three times. The book instantly settled and purred, leaving Robyn to open the book and gaze up happily. She then saw the sickly face of Malfoy glaring at her. She felt anxiety build up in the pit of her stomach as her heart began to pound in her chest. Robyn was never good with people, especially not one of the biggest bullies in the school.
