Chapter Fourteen
Carrie and Clark were playing a game of chess, when her apartment door was flung open and a tall brunette strode in.
She could tell that Clark didn't recognise her but Carrie did, and from the expression on her face, they were in for a roasting.
"Lois?"
"You!" she ignored Carrie and pointed at Clark. "Who do you think you are, humiliating Chloe like that? She might have broken your poor farm boy heart but you do not get go around being bitchy because of it, especially not to my cousin."
Chloe burst in just in time to hear the final few words.
"I'm sorry, Guys, I tried to stop her."
Lois ignored her.
"And you!" she turned on Carrie. "What kind of slut sleeps with her cousins ex boyfriend, huh?"
"Lois!" Carrie hissed through clenched teeth.
"Okay, first of all," Clark began. "We have both apologised. Profusely."
"That's a big word for a farmer." Lois said contemptuously.
"And second of all, we were under the influence of a love potion, okay."
"A love potion? You're really trying to sell me the magic angle here?"
"It's not an angle," Carrie protested.
Chloe grabbed Lois's arm. "Lois, please, let's just leave."
"No! I told you no one humiliates you and gets away with it."
"That was two months ago. I thought you'd have forgotten by now." Chloe shook her head. "I know you mean well, Lois, but I'm over it. Really. Now can we just go, please?" She actually began manhandling Lois out of the apartment.
Lois allowed herself to be pushed to the door but looked back before they left.
"I'm watching you two," she said, ominously.
When the door closed behind them, Carrie and Clark looked at her.
"That was your cousin?" he asked.
Carrie nodded.
"Wow. She's..."
"Yeah."
"I have a sudden desire to spent Christmas in Vancouver," he said. "Wanna join me?"
Carrie was seriously tempted and smiled.
"I think maybe we better see this through," she said. "Besides, one day Lois might mean a lot more to you."
"Her?" he said laughing. "No offence Carrie, but are you out of your mind?"
"Life works in mysterious ways, Clark." She smiled. "But anyway, it's your move."
"Fine." Clark turned back to the chess board. "But if she calls you a slut again, frozen over or not, I'm dunking her in Crater Lake."
Carrie laughed at the mental image.

Carrie took a deep breath and finally entered Watchtower. This place held so many memories. Some good, some bad, none forgettable.
She had snapped it up as soon as it came on the market, probably paying way over current market value for it. She'd been hearing reports from Star City of a green clad vigilante, so she guessed Oliver was already doing his thing. It couldn't be too much longer until he brought the others into the fold, especially since she was almost certain that 33.1 still existed in this universe.
