Her hands rested against the marble counter. Eyes fixated on the light shower of snow falling outside, she thought about what she was going do.

The ticking of the clock on the wall echoed in her head along with the sound of water dripping from the tap. Nothing was the same.

It was three days after the funeral service and things had taken a turn for the worse. Especially with her husband.

Sasuke refused to eat, whether it was her cooking, Karin's or take out. He would stay cooped up in his room day and night. Silent and resolute. To say he had reverted to his usual aloof state would be an understatement. Now he was worse than ever.

Cold and distant, their relationship had become estranged. They were merely two people sharing a house. It was as so bad that Karin had taken the initiative to move in with Suigetsu...just to get away from his monotonous demeanor. But she stayed.

Why?

Sakura sighed and braced on her elbows. She knew he'd probably never forgive her for keeping Itachi's illness from him...but she had no choice.

That wasn't entirely true.

You always have a choice...you just won't always like your options. And that's what befell her, she was stuck between a rock and a hard place. Honouring Itachi's wishes and being honest with her husband.

She ran a hand through her pink mess of hair. In the end neither worked for her...Itachi died shattering her relationship with Sasuke. And now she was left to pick up the pieces...alone. There was no effort on his part. Why would there be? She broke her promise to him. But it seemed as though the more pieces she tried to pick up, the more they shattered in her hands.

Sasuke was broken.

But more over, their relationship was broken and she was walking on the pieces.

Ding!

The sound of the toaster pulled her away from her depressing thoughts and into reality. With a shaky sigh, she retrieved the pieces of bread from it and placed it on a plate.

Hopefully he'll eat this time, she thought as she ascended the stairs with a tray in her hands. It had become her morning routine since Itachi's death. To bring him breakfast...getting turned down every time. But maybe, just maybe, this time will be different.

Stopping before the door, the pink haired girl raised her fist to knock on the door. However they never made contact as she heard a series of gags and groans. Panic rushed through her as she quickly opened the door.

"Sasuke-kun?" She called on entering. Her eyes scanned the room frantically as her heart pounded in its confined space. The jade green eyed girl quickly placed the tray on the dresser before rushing into the bathroom. On entering a gasp escaped her lips at the sight she was presented with.

The Uchiha knelt before the the toilet emptying his already empty stomach. His skin looked drained of all its vitality as he clenched the lid of the toilet. Hunched over she clearly saw his jagged breathing pattern.

Falling to her knees she was quick to rub his back slowly evoking a painful groan on his part. "Shh," she cooed pulling his hair back.

After a few long minutes he finally finished and flushed away his aliment. Rocking back on his heels he slumped against Sakura feeling weak. Biting her lip she helped him to his feet in order for him to rinse the taste of the metallic tide that lingered in his mouth.
