"I should probably get going, it's getting late," Naruto said looking out the window at the evening sky.

"Wait, there's something I've been meaning to give you," his God father said. Naruto arched his eyebrows and got up.

He'd enjoyed the little time he'd spent with him. Jiraiya was the only family he had left really. He was grateful when he'd found out that he was still alive and well.

He followed the old man to the back of the house, where he stopped and simply watched. "If you'd visited more often, you'd have had this already."

"What are you talking about old man," Naruto asked impatiently.

Jiraiya rolled his eyes and proceeded to pull the wrap off the contraption. And as quickly as the wrap fell, the blonde's cerulean blue eyes lit up like a Christmas tree.

"Ta-da!" He said gesturing to the car he just uncovered.

"Is this...for me?" Naruto asked.

"No it's for me, of course it's for you!" He chided. Naruto rolled his eyes and embraced the vehicle.

"This is the best day of my life," Naruto grinned.

"I think the best day of your life will be when you become a father," Jiraiya said. Naruto bit his lip, but nodded anyway.

"No more taking the bus," he muttered to himself.

"It's getting late," his God father noted.

Naruto got the hidden message and quickly collected the keys to his new ride. "Arigato Pervy Sage!"

He smiled as he watched the blonde get behind the wheel. "Take care of her!"

"I will dattebayo!" Naruto grinned starting the car.

"And don't come back without a wife next time," he added.

Naruto nodded and drove off, "see you soon old man," he muttered to himself.

"You have got to be kidding me," Sakura muttered as she stared at the bed before her.

"What?" Sasuke asked getting in on his side.

"What the hell is this?" She blurted out grabbing one of the pillows that were set in a straight line, dividing the bed, unequally, in two.

"It's a boarder," he said taking the pillow from her and putting it back in place.

"Okay, I get that...but why is your side bigger?"

"Because."

She furrowed her eyebrows, "because what?"

"Just because," he said laying down. Rolling her eyes, she got into her side of the bed. Just when she thought they were making progress. Well it was better than having one of them sleep on the couch.

Sakura got under the covers and settled on her side. Sasuke had turned out the light on the lamp and an eerie silence overtook the atmosphere around them.

She knew he wasn't asleep, but she didn't really want to bother him. They were so close and yet the feel of the cool pillows against her back reminded her of just how far apart they were.

Deciding to take a chance, she spoke, "you really do love your brother," she whispered into the darkness.

There was no reply, not that she actually expected one. This was Sasuke Uchiha for Pete's sake. And although he went on a rant earlier she knew he was still a man of little words. Reticent as ever.
