Dawn, I-

"Welcome to my humble abode," Dawn says as she pushes the front door to her home open and we both walk inside.

Her house is stunning. All white furniture, not a single spot of mess, a chandelier in their living room, and the whole house smells like green apple. I see Thor taking a nap under the coffee table. As I take a few more steps into the house, I notice it's significantly bigger than my house. Dawn's family has so much money, they bought the biggest house on the block. I'm sure they could have gotten a mansion with the money they have.

"I know, my house is insanely clean. My mom hired three cleaning ladies to make the hose spotless every day. Ridiculous, that woman is. She insist on letting them clean my room but I refuse, I'm not having some random person touching my things while I'm not here. I'm talking too much, aren't I?" she sits on top of the counter in her kitchen and grabs and apple from her fruit bowl.

"You have a very nice house, Dawn." my voice is hoarse from all the crying, my throat is dry, and my headache creates storms in my brain to keep me in constant pain.

"Okay, Pup," she says as she hops of the counter, mouth full of apple, and she walks towards me "Whatever  happened to you is your business. I don't want to pry, if you don't want to talk about it, that's fine. Just don't block me out. We haven't known each other for even a week, I know, but I want you to know that for as long as we know each other, I will always be there for you. I will never betray you, I will never turn my back on you. I will always be here. I'm here to talk any time, I'm here to fight your battles if you don't want to fight them yourself." she puts the apple on the table and gently puts her hands on both of my arms, "You murder someone? I'm there. You run away from home? I'm there. You want to skip school? I'm there too. You can always count on me, okay? I just need you to know that."

Her sweet words bring more tears to my eyes. I've met a lot of people in my life, and I've gone through many "friends" and was close to a lot of them, but not a single one has told me anything like that. Not even Jake, not even Jamie. This person, this person I don't even know all that well, is willing to do anything for me. I don't even think my family is down for me like that. I don't know what to say to such a big commitment. I look down to my feet, a tear running off the tip of my nose.

"Let me take you to my bathroom so you can clean yourself up, you look like a puffy crying mess," she jokes, making me smile a bit.

She has a huge bathroom in her room. She's already planning on painting everything dark colors, it'd be the only dark part of the whole house. I stare at myself in the foggy mirror, it's still all steamy in here since I just took a shower. I gave Dawn my key so she could go get me some clothes to wear, so I'm just here, naked in her bathroom, waiting for her to come back. I finally stopped crying. I feel empty not though, which isn't much better. I stare at the bruise he left on my wrist, and my eyes travel to the tender scar under my boob. I got that the night he raped me. When he was  trying to force my bra off, the wire pocked out while I was fighting him off. He tore the bra off and cut me in the process. I turn away, not wanting to look at myself, not wanting to remember.

"Sorry I took so long, I didn't know whether you wanted the 'Raise Boys And Girls The Same Way' t-shirt or the 'Fuck It Up' one, so I brought both with some pajama shorts. You have a lot of nice underwear, by the way. I also didn't know which one you wanted, there were so man-"

"Thank you, Dawn." I say through the door. "You can leave them on the floor."

"What happened to my nick name, pup?" she spoke quietly.
