Chapter 12

Three days.  Three days had gone by since Alexander was taken.  I shut myself out.  I was given as much time as I need by Lissa to get better.  She had tried to explain why they were there but I just wouldn't listen.  I got bits a pieces, like they were there to see where I went bad because I was getting good again.  But I cut her off then.  I was getting good again but the he... he vanished.  Just like every other guy I've fell in love with.  Now that I think about it, every man I have slept with as in really actually slept with because I loved them has had something happen to them.

"Rose I brought you some food."  I heard Lissa's sweet voice but refused to turn to acknowledge her presence.  She set it down with the breakfast and everything else she kept bringing me.  This was my life, she would bring me food and I would refuse to eat it.  She would come and clean up the mess and then she would try to stay an talk but I would pretend I was asleep.

I could feel through the bond she was sad for me, that she wanted me to wake up from this dream like state and be normal again.  But that was never going to happen, I mean the first time I let somebody in they are taken away by strigoi.  Karma really had it out for me.  What I di....

Beep!

I turned to my phone just in time to see a text message:

Come outside.

I looked at the unknown number but quickly got up and walked outside on  my balcony.  That's when I heard it, the heartbeat, the breathing.  I turned to my left and saw Alexander.  My legs gave way and his arms quickly wrapped around my small body.

"How?"  He shushed me with his lips.

"Rose I've been through hell and back to be with you again.  Do you know how hard it is to get away from ten strigoi?  Being chained to a wall?"  I looked at his eyes and felt whole again.

"Alexander, I love you."  I spoke quielty but he heard.  His lips came crashing down to mine and he picked me up.  (I always hated when people would put 'he picked me up bridal style' I mean what other way is he going to pick her up?  Like a baby?) 

"I love you, Rose Hathaway."  I felt my heart beat faster and I was completely glued into his lips.  But not for long because Lissa quickly came in followed by Christian.  They were amazed to see him, as well as I was.  But that didn't stop anything and after the night floated away Alexander looked up at me as I walked him to his room. 

"Alexander I died when you were gone.  I thought I lost the only thing that made me sane, the only thing I really felt like living for."  I let a tear slide but he wiped it away.

"Rose I never thought I would see you again and I was having all sorts of regrets but now, I know one thing is for sure.  I want you, Rose.  Forever.  Will you become my wife?"  His words made my heart exploded and I nodded.

Four years later.

"Hey honey can you take Mia to school?"  I asked Alexander.  See the night Alexander and I first had sex I got pregnant.  I know you are like wtf you can't get pregnant.  But I did.  When I was turned back to a dhampir something happened that meant I could have kids.  If I would have known that before that would have been great.  But Mia was quickly born after our wedding and her brother Cole is on the way.

Lissa and Christian have two kids and are expecting a third right now.  Their oldest is a boy named Adrian.  Mia and Adrian can not be seperated.  It's to cute.  I hope she ends up being his guardian.  Which most likely she will because the fact that Lissa is queen.  Which is awesome because she is always with Christian which means the gang is always together. 

It's hard to believe my life got turned so upside down and one man could put it right again.  Alexander really did save me from being bound to Dimitri for the rest of my life.
