Screams filled the bunker.

"Dean, Dean wake up. It's happening again!"

Dean jumped and his fits of screams turned into fits of tears. The angel gentley cuddled him rubbing his back softly.

"It's alright Dean. Sssh, it's okay"

The nightmares were common.
"Luci- Sammy he... I tried-" Dean stuttered out, Castiel nodded.

"There was nothing you could do Dean, it's okay, calm down"

Ever since the younger Winchester, Sam, let Lucifer get back into his head Dean had felt this regret.
"The- the things, He- oh god Sammy!" He burried his head into Castiel's shoulder, hiding all his tears.

This was an average night for Cas. After loseing his grace, he would sleep on the couch for a while till the early hours of the morning, when the Green eyed Winchester would shriek his brothers name and beg Luci to take him instead.

For two years this has been happening.

The only thing that could calm Dean back to sleep was Castiel holding him, assuring him that Sam is safe in Heaven with Bobby. Dean is the only one left and Cas was sure that he would live until old age and die of natural causes.

"He was so scared.." Dean whispered into Castiel's blue shirt.
"He was brave Dean. Right till the very end" Castiel smiled faintly.

5:00am

He's back asleep. Castiel daren't leave him now. A sudden move and he could explode into floods of tears, and Cas knew that if that happens a simple 'It's Okay' wasn't going to work. So he stayed.

He curled up with the Older Winchester holding him close. His shirt was stained with tears -- but he didn't care. Dean was safe. Asleep. And thats all he needed.

He closed his eyes, getting lost in his thoughts. He didn't realize he had fell asleep until the next morning when he felt Dean's body shift from under his arms.

He opened his eyes and looked at Dean sleepily "You okay?" He asked softly, but already knowing the answer will be the same as the past two years.

Dean didn't look at the Angel, but he nodded and said in a near whisper "Yeah, fine."
