Dean started any day as he normally would; A bottle of beer and some leftovers from the night before.

Castiel wasn't happy with this routine but he knew that Dean wouldn't listen, so he accepted the fact that Dean was eating even if it wasn't healthy.

Dean always managed to find himself a case. A minor distraction to get him through yet another bleak day.

"You think its Vamps?" He asked the angel in a monotone, emotionless voice.

"Well no one could cause that much damage, unless it was a werewolf? But this victum has bite marks on her wrists, they probly tried to turn her." The dreamy blue eyed creature replied.

Dean let himself half smile at Castiel's knowledge. "You've been with me too long, Cas."

"Not long enough, Dean." Cas was quick to respond. The comment made Dean chuckle, the first time in two years, just momentarily before he went back to work.

Cas was right. Dean barely made it out this one, if Castiel wasn't there god knows if Dean would still be alive.
"That was too close" Castiel said panting, feeling as if he had just ran a marathon. His new jeans didn't help either; he had only wore them because Dean said he liked them. But sometimes he misses his suit.

Dean just laughed and put his muscular arm around Castiel's neck walking back to the parked Impala. "Cas, buddy I have never felt more alive."

Although the comment did bother Castiel a little bit, he couldn't help but burst into the feverish laughter his dear friend was in. It had been ages since he saw Dean like this and he wanted to keep the moment.

Dean laughed and got into the creaky old car, Castiel followed cheerfully. Dean was healing slowly. A bigger smile every day. And that made Cas feel happy, the fact he could actually help someone, with out making a mistake-- like he did many times before.

They made there way to a diner, fighting Vampires really did give Dean an appitate.

Four meals later, Dean and Cas where back at the bunker searching for another case, and the cycle continued.
