Chapter 3: The Deal

Alden's POV

She's really surprised to see me there.

"Why are you here?" She asked.

"I saw what happened earlier. What she did to you back there? It's really annoying."

"But she's your girlfriend, right?" she uttered.

"Just to make things clear, it's EX."

"Ow. Sorry about that. I didn't know."

"No need to be sorry. I broke up with her anyway." then I laughed.

She asked, "why?"

And so I told her about it, the whole story. She stopped from crying and listened to my story instead. I lent her my hanky. And it took us an hour to finish my full story.

"God! She's the worst. Can't imagine she could do that to you. I mean, you're almost perfect and all. You both are the most perfect couple in the campus." she said.

"Well, nothing lasts forever." I uttered.

"Of course there is!"

I am amazed. She's so innocent by the way she talks. I find it cute. I faced her and asked,

"Okay. Tell me one thing that lasts forever?"

She turned away, she blushed. Ha! She's even much cuter this time. Then slowly she turned her face on me and..

"True love." she said.

I laughed. Really hard. She turned away her face again. I offended her a bit. So..

"Okay sorry. I just find it funny because maybe I don't have one yet." I said.

"Sorry. I was too sensitive."

"No it's fine. I find it cute. I mean, no one believes in forever anymore. Just, you." I smiled.

She looked away. She acted like a kid the whole time we were talking.

She suddenly looked at the clock and..

"Oh jeez! It's already 3PM. Gosh! I forgot to text my brother." Maine said.

Maine's POV

I grabbed my phone quickly. Who would have thought? I'll be spending almost the whole afternoon with this guy here?

To: Nico

Hey! I'll be going home a bit late. I just need to drop by at Niki's.

*sent

"Where are you going?" Alden asked.

I stood up and wiped my tears. It's still obvious.

"Oh. I just need to go now." I answered.

"Go where? Do you want to eat first?" He offered.

I'm completely speechless. I'm not being asked out, he's just hungry. I know. Actually, I feel a bit hungry too.

"Yes. Sure. Would it be fine with you?"

"Of course. No worries. I'm hungry, that's why I asked."

"Let's go then. Uhhmmm, I know a place near here. You want to try it out?"

"Sure. I'll just call my driver." he said.

I giggled.

"We can walk, you know?" I smiled.

He shook his head and smiled. THOSE DIMPLES. That's why girls go crazy over her.

"Alright. Let's go then." We walked.

While we're walking, all the students are looking at us.. I felt a bit uncomfortable.

"Is it really okay with you to walk with me? You're walking with a nerd. A geek." I asked.

He stopped. He held my hand. Then we started walking again. It got worse!

People are now starting to take pictures and whispering.

I whispered,

"What are you doing?? Let go of my hand."

He said,

"I'm doing this for you. Just go with the flow. You'll be just fine."

Some part of me, felt really safe when he's around. I listened to him though I'm a bit shaky and my hands are really cold.

And there goes my clumsiness, I tripped into something but he was able to catch me.

He pulled me and it's just one more inch he'll be able to kiss me.

He helped me to stand up straight again and we continued walking. When we finally reached the store. I removed my hand from his.

"Okay. Now. Explain." I uttered.

"Oh! C'mon let's order something first then I'll explain it over while we're eating."

Oh! Yes. I'm hungry too. It's just that I was too preempted of what just happened just happened earlier.

We ordered our food. He ordered a lot for the both of us.

"This is A LOT!" I told him.

He laughed.

"And if I'm gonna be basing all of this to you. Naaaaah."

I'm scanning him from head to foot and he's really physically fit.

"Oh! C'mon today's cheat day and besides, I'll be hitting the gym later tonight."

Then we began eating. I asked him,

"So what's with the holding hands earlier?"

"Oh! Before anything else. Thanks for catching me earlier. Too clumsy." I added.

"No worries. Don't mention it." he said.

"So going back, what happened earlier? With the holding hands?"

"I have a plan. It suddenly occurred to me, we should fight back Marge, and you, will pretend as my girl."

What the heck did he just say?

"I didn't catch that. Could you please repeat that?"

I'm just not sure if I heard that right..

He reiterated.

So I heard it right.

I stopped eating.

"Are you out of your mind? What made you decide?" I am completely in shock as I asked him.

"Listen, we need to fight back. I cannot let her do that to anyone else again. She's full of herself. We must teach her a lesson."

I'm still absorbing it.

He added,

"Okay. I'm just offering you my help. It's still up to you and you dont have to answer it right away."

"You're crazy." I uttered.

"I am. Now, can we please eat peacefully so that we can both go home and take a rest?" he said and smiled.

I nodded.

We finished our food. He paid for everything. I insisted but he cannot be stopped. We went outside and parted ways.

I wasn't able to drop by at Niki's house since I'm really tired and full. I need to think about what he said.

First day at school and now I have new friend that offered me a scheme to fight back to his ex and the one who bullied me earlier.
