Chapter 4: The Beginning

Maine's POV

I wasn't able to sleep very well last night. I'm still thinking about the deal.

"Ugh! This is so hard!" I told myself.

While getting ready fo school, I thought that I should do something different. I've always been the boring one so "I'm up with the deal. Had to give him my answer right away."

Went downstairs, had my breakfast and started my morning walk.

While walking I always put my headsets on.

"..we were strangers, starting out on a journey.."

"Oooooh. The perfect song for me now.." I said to myself and smiled a bit.

Suddenly..

*beeep beeeep*

It's Alden.

"Good morning Miss." he greeted me with a smile and a wink.

I'M DEAD. He's such a charmer!

I'm out of words this early!

I stuttered.

"Oh. Uhmm. Uhmm. Hi! Good morning to you too."

Great. I blushed.

"Hop in!" he said.

"No. I'm fine. I prefer to walk every morning."

Suddenly the front seat window of the car opened and surprisingly saw Mr. Richards.

"Good morning young lady." Mr. Richards smiled

"Good morning sir. Pleasure to meet you finally sir." I uttered.

"Please join us. We're on our way to the University too anyway." He insisted.

I CANNOT EVER SAY NO TO THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNIVERSITY!

"Yes, sir." I answered.

Alden opened the door for me and sat beside him.

While we're on our way, it is a bit traffic than the usual. This is not good. My goodness!

"So. You are Maine, right?" Mr. Richards asked.

"Yes, sir." I answered.

What on earth? The President knows my name.

"Don't call me sir. It's fine. You can call me, Dad.."

Whoa. What? What did I just hear?

"No. I'm kidding." He laughed.

"You can call me, Uncle. But of course you can call me Dad if you want." He joked and smiled at me.

I smiled. Though my hands are really sweaty right now. This is an intense morning I must say.

I looked at Alden and he's just laughing.

Finally we arrived at the University, just in time for our classes. Me and Alden got off the car and said goodbye to his Father.

And the paparazzis are all around us. I guess, this is the beginning of it. Being friends with him and his family is a big deal.

I need to breathe. "Calm down Maine" I told myself.

Alden's POV

We arrived at the University and I saw the paparazzis waiting for us. What I've done yesterday is no joke. I would really like to help this young lady beside me.

She looked at me and whispered.

"I'm in."

THIS IS IT.

We walked down the halls together, holding hands. Her hands are really cold.

I stopped her from walking. I asked her to sit down. We still have 20 mins. before the class starts.

I looked at her. She really looks nervous.

I asked her...

"Are you sure you can do this?"

She smiled.

"Yes. First day jitters I guess."

We both laughed. I find her really cute when she smiles.

"Let's go?" She said.

I nodded.

She removed her glasses and ponytail. Handcombed her hair and she's done.

Wow! She is pretty after all. She doesn't need to put on some make up, loose powder will do I guess.

She made it more exciting.

I took her hand and it's not that cold anymore. I am more nervous now.

We walked again going to our class and when we entered the room. People are really amazed to see us hand in hand.

She let go of my hand and whispered.

"We're good. Back to reality." And she winked.

I am used to holding her hands that quick. She is a sweetheart. I find it really cute.

We both sat down and the class started.

I'm just looking at her.

Then snapped back to reality when I realized the professor's been calling me and she turned around.

"Are you okay?" The professor asked.

"Uh. Uhm. Yes sir. I'm a bit dizzy tho."

"Do you want to go to the clinic?"

Everyone's staring.

Awkward it is.

"Uhm yes sir. Can I be accompanied by Ms. Mendoza?"

Knowing that my Dad is the President, how can they say no to me, I told myself.

"Yes, Alden. If that makes you comfortable." professor said.

Maine's shocked to hear it while she's fixing her hair and doing the ponytail and putting her glasses on.

I stood up and pulled Maine.

When we are finally outside.

"Are you really not feeling well? Or making an excuse?" she asked.

"I just dont feel like attending the class today." I said.

M: "So you really have to bring me with you huh?"

A: "Of course! Everyone knows you're my girlfriend now!"

M: "We're just acting, remember?"

"I know.. " I smiled.

I held her hand and gave her a kiss on her cheeks.

I'm just waiting for the news to spread. I'm sure Marge already know about this.

Maine's

HE KISSED ME. That's a first.

"So, where are we going anyway?" I curiously asked him since I really dont have an idea.

"Preparing you for the war we have created with Marge." he said.

I felt really nervous but I wanted for this to happen.

"So first.. Shopping for new clothes. It's on me" he added and winked.

And so THIS IS REALLY THE BEGINNING OF EVERYTHING.
