Chapter 11: The comeback kid

Jake's POV

"How's everyone here?" Jake asked the maids.

"Fine, sir. We all missed you and Ms. Jane."

"We missed you too."

Jake hugged his nanny, Diane.

Diane, 56 years old, is Jake and Jane's nanny since they were babies. She's treated as a family.

"Are you both back for good?" Diane asked.

"I am. But him,  I don't know." Jane said.

"Let's see." Jake answered.

Maine's POV

I feel guilty about not telling Alden about Jake and I.

I was just a kid then. We were kids. Tho I owe Jake my elementary days. Since no one bullied me after he protected me.

*phone vibrates

Good morning. I love you. Hope you had a good night sleep. See you tomorrow. :*

I have the whole day to be alone..

"Knock, knock!" Nico showed up.

"You're here! Where's Dee?" I asked.

"I was in my room since last night. Dee went home. Why?"

"Nothing. I thought you guys are getting married. Ha ha!"

Nico blushed.

"Not just yet." Nico uttered.

"Whatever! Anyway, where's Mom and Dad? I have something to tell them."

"Downstairs. They've just arrived like an hour ago."

"Good. Let's go downstairs!"

We ran down the stairs.

I saw Mom preparing breakfast and Dad, well, reading the newspaper.

"Mom!!!" I yelled and hugged her.

"Missed us?" Mom asked.

I nodded.

"I have something to tell."

"Please don't tell us your pregnant???" Dad exclaimed.

"Dad! I'm not. Do I look like a pregnant woman?"

"Just clarifying."

"Go ahead. Tell us."

"Jake's back."

Alden's POV

Why do I have this feeling she's not telling me something?

"Alden! You're imagining things! Stop. You're a paranoid." I said to myself.

Why isn't she replying? Is she busy on a Sunday? I'm wondering what she's doing.

I'll surprise her later.

Maine's POV

"Oh. Jake, your prince?" Mom teased me.

"Mom! Stop. Alden's my boyfriend."

"I know. I know. I'm just checking if there are some change of heart. Haha."

I looked at her.

"Okay. Does Alden know about this?"

"He is Alden's cousin."
