Out Of The Shadows

Chapter 4

It is the last night that Griffin and I will spend in the chamber.

Right now we are both in the library reading.

"Can we go watch a movie", Griffin whines. "No we haven't spent any time in the library yet." "Pleeeeeeease." "Fine", I laugh.

Griffin absolutely loves movies. We've watched like five today.

When we get to the main room I climb over the covers of the bed. Griffin climbs under the covers and smiles up at me. I giggle.

"So which one do you want to watch?" I ask. "Can we watch the one you were watching this morning", he asks. "I didn't get to see it." "Sure."

The movie starts ot with the Disney's signature castle with music with the words: na na na hey yah na and some others. They must be in another language.

We watch the movie, play in the pool, then take a nap.

It's seven when I get up. I look over next to me, Griffin is still asleep.

I get up and walk into the kitchen. I feel so warm wearing my fuzzy pajamas.

I look through the cupboards. They really put a lot of food in them.

I decide to make pancackes. Breakfast for dinner.

Griffin comes in and wraps his arms around me.

"Hey." He says quietly.

We got out of the chamber this morning. Now I'm moving in with Griffin. (Its the next step after being in the chamber.)

Right now we are in the elevator waiting to go up to Griffin's apartment.

"So you just got this apartment right." I ask Griffin. "Yep, I haven't even seen it yet.

The elevator opens up to a small hallway. (they are the royal apartments.)

Griffin stops at one of the apartments. "Home sweet home."

We walk in and look around.

Its huge, as big as the chamber maybe even bigger! There's a humongous kitchen, and a beautiful living room wuth an enormous TV. Also there is two bathrooms, one as a master suite. The master suites bathroom is beautiful, there is white quartz tile, and a humongous shower with a free standing tub. Then the two bedrooms. There was a guest bedroom and a master. I only looked in the master though. Its perfect. There is a king size bed, a TV and an amazing painting.

Everything was amazing.

"What! The president!"

Griffin looks amused. "Well he is my father." "Well yeah."

I don't know why I'm so surprised that I would get to meet the president but I am. "So, six tonight. We should get ready around five fifteen.

"Okay."

Its already five fifteen, it seems like the time went really fast.

I hear a knock on the door. I open it.

Six people come bustling into the living room.

"Hi?" They don't answer.

"Um Griffin?"

"Yeah?" He says. "There are people in the living room." He walks into the room. "Oh hi ladies and gentleman. Aarika, this is Amanda, Sara, Rose, and Michael. They are the royal family's personal hairstylist, makeup artist, dresser, and Michael is the head of the team.

"Oh, sorry I didn't remember you telling me they were coming." "I didn't, I wanted it to be a surprise. Their here to get us ready, whenever we have parties they always come. I don't know how they know when we are having parties, but they always do. Oh and by the way there all deaf except for Michael."

(Well that was a lot of typing.)

"Oh", I just nod.

That was a lot to take in.

Its ten minutes before the president and his family will get here. Griffin has a younger sister, and obviously his mother. (My parents couldn't make it, I have no sisters or brothers.)

By the way, Griffin hasn't seen me yet.

(Okay just so everyone knows, getting to be president is pike getting to be royalty. The first born gets to be president. I know I've only told you about presidents who are men, but there are woman presidents.)

I am actually wearing the dress I wore to the commencement ceremony. Griffin's makeup people, or whatever they are, thought it would be a good idea.

"Okay, I'm coming out", I say from the bathroom. I can feel Griffin's smile.

I open the door.

Griffin's mouth literally drops open and forms an O. I wave my hand in front of his face. He then snaps out of it.

"Wow... you look beautiful." I blush. "Thanks."

He steps closer to me. But then we her a knock on the door.

I get it. Five army men come in and then the president and his family.

I try not gape, and try to close my mouth. But it doesn't work. I just never thought that I would meet the president!

Griffin introduces me. "Father, mother, Angelina this is Aarika.

The president shakes my hand.

"The president shook my hand", I say to Griffin as we walk to the table. He chuckles slightly.

The food has been served. Salmon and a salad. Which unfortunately I hate.

"So, Aarika tell us about yourself. Although Griffin has been talking about you since you went to the commencement ceremony." She says the last sentence in a whisper, but just loud enough for everyone to hear.

"Um well my parents are Olive, and Mark Johnson. And I have no sisters or brothers. I got the job of outside explorer, like your son also." Griffin's mom (who I learn is named Mary) exclaims as this point, "oh that'll be perfect, you can spend tons of time together."

When desert comes around I feel as if I've shared everything about me with Griffin's family.

"So would you like to here any funny stories about Griffin," Ole (which he has insisted me call him) says. "Well if it's about the nickname Mr. Important boy, I've already heard it." Ole and Mary burst out laughing. "I'd forgotten that", Mary says. "Even we called him that!"

Finally the evening ends. I have survived.

"So, did you like them", Griffin asks. I smile and nod. He seems to get how tired I am and leads me into the bedroom.

It feels weird, and... it dosen't that Griffin and I are already so close. I know it seems cliche to even say this but, it seems like we were meant to be together.

Well that was a ton of writing. I probably should stop writing this and go up to bed, so I'll make this short + I'm tired. This is a really fun book to write and I can't wait to finish it. :-D
