Mom at 17...Ch. 14

[Hey, just wanted to sayyy you guys are thee best&& so here's chapter 14(:]

"Jesse." 

He didn't turn around and acted as if he didn't hear anything. Ok, I guess I deserved that. 

Sighing, I walked over to the swing next to him and sat down. Still he ignored me and kept looking out into the distance at nothing in particular. 

"Please talk to me." I whispered looking at him. 

Jesse was quite for a moment before he finally turned his head to look at me. His eyes locked with mine and for a moment I forgot how to breath. 

His gorgeous gray with blue specks eyes were the most beautiful eyes I've ever seen. Well besides Nika since she got his eyes. 

For as long as I've known him everytime Jesse would look at me with those beautiful eyes of his, I would feel as if I was drowning in them but I didn't mind at all. 

I blinked a few times looking away from him and cleared my throat. When I looked back at him, Jesse was still staring at me and that's when I notice the emotions his eyes held. It was hard to tell though because his eyes showed so many but one stood out to me. 

Hurt. 

I felt my chest tighten at that as I tried to think of what to say. 

Before I could speak though, Jesse did. 

"Were you planning on ever telling me?" He asked. 

I stayed quite for a moment trying to figure out how to answer his question but he must've have taken my silence the wrong way because he groaned and scowled.

"You weren't going to tell me at all?"  

I shook my head. "No, of course I was going to tell you." I didn't plan for him to find out this soon but of course I was going to tell him. "Eventually." 

"Why didn't you just tell me when you found out you were pregnant?"  

I groaned in my head. Didn't I already explain this to him? 

"I already told you, I just..." I sighed. "You had a great future ahead of you, what with the whole scholarship and all and when I found out that I was pregnant, I promised myself that I wasn't going to tell you and ruin all of that." 

Jesse's face softened then it turned into a scowl. "Leigh, she's my baby too. My responsibility and not only yours. To hell with the scholarship. I mean yeah it's awesome but I would've turned my back anytime on that just for you and NIka."  He sighed and a pained look crossed his beautiful features. "I just...I wish you told me so I could've been there for you and Nika and be by your side the whole time." 

Tears were threatening to pour out and I looked up and blinked a couple of times to keep them from coming out. I felt guilty and regret not telling Jesse in the first place.

I turned to look at him again. "I"m sorry." I whispered. 

Jesse sighed and then the next thing I knew I was in his arms as he hugged me against him tightly. For a moment I did nothing but then I wrapped my arms around his waist, turning my head to his chest and cried. 

He ran his hand through my hair and soothed me. I felt his head rest against my shoulder and he hugged me closer.

I missed this so much. Being in his arms, feeling safe and as if we were the only two people in the world. When he held me in his arms, I felt like nothing could ever hurt me, and I felt safe and protected. His hugs were always comforting and always made my inside feel all warm and bubbly. 

I snuggled closer and he whispered something in my ear that had my heart skip a beat. 

"I still love you."
