Braden's pov:
It's 3:30 right now and I have to go get ready for my game. I spent the last 3 hours watching tv shows with Kelly. We snuggled up on the couch together and her mom brought us watermelon to eat. Kelly insisted on watching The Fosters because it's her favorite show ever and even though I hate it, I watched it for her.
I get up from the couch and tell Kelly I'm going to get ready and that I'll come back to pick her up around 4:10. She nods and smiles. Then she gives me a hug and says to hurry up and come back. I will.
I run across the street, open my door, run through my kitchen, past my parents, and up to my room. Wow. I haven't been home in forever, I think. I've been at the hospital too, with Kelly. So it's weird when I walk into my room, it looks.. changed. Or maybe.. I'm the one that's changed. I mean, a lot has happened lately and maybe I'm not the same person anymore. I definitely love Kelly even more after almost losing her and I definitely lost a best friend in Zack. So I guess, things have changed.
I hurry up and get into my uniform and get my bag ready. I tell my dad I'll be right back and I go pick Kelly up. She answers the door right away and smiles.
"You look gorgeous." I say, not even thinking
"Well thank you Braden." She blushes
I grab her hand and like a chase scene from an action movie, we bolt across the pavement and into my driveway, where my dad is waiting for us. I open Kelly's door for her.
"What a gentleman." She says, hoping in. I hop in after her and we're off. The whole ride there, Kelly is making me take selfies with her and snapchats too. And when I say 'making me,' I mean, letting me. She just makes me so happy.
When we arrive, I get out of my dad's truck and help Kelly down by grabbing her hand. She hops down and smiles at me. Then out of nowhere, she gives me a hug. Not just any hug, a real hug.
"What's this for?" I ask laughing
"Good luck." she says "I know you'll do great." she lets go
"With you supporting me, anything's possible." I say, really meaning it
She laughs and then kisses my cheek. I nearly pass out from happiness. Without another word, Kelly walks over into the stands and leaves me there, holding my cheek, holding her kiss. I feel great.
I grab my bag and head down to the dugout. The rest of my team isn't here yet, I got here pretty early. So I just sit down on the bench and smile like an idiot.
The other boys slowly all arrive and we start our warmups. I throw with Jaden, who looks pretty happy himself.
"What are you smiling about?" I ask him
"Oh nothing." He says, secretively
"C'mon tell me." I beg
"Fine. But you gotta keep it a secret." He says, coming closer
"Alright." I say
"Ok, so I really like this girl, and I think she likes me back, and I wanna ask her out but I don't know how."
"Oh Jaden, so blinded by love." I say, patting him on the shoulder "Is she here at the game?" I ask
"Yeah."
"Good, then ask her out at the end of the game, all romantic like, in front of everyone. I'll even record it if you want." I wink at him and raise my eyebrows
"Awesome idea Braden! Thanks!" He smiles then coach calls us into the dugout so we stop talking about this 'girl'

The game is going well. We're ahead by 3 in the last inning. The other team is up with 2 outs. If they don't score, we win. Cole throws the pitch.
Strike!
Kaden throws the ball back to Cole and he winds up again. There's the pitch and..
Strike!
One more and we win. Cole throws his fastball and the ump calls it.
Strike 3! You're out!
We all throw our gloves in the air and dog pile on Cole. Kelly comes running out onto the field and congratulates us. Once we've all calmed down, I remind Jaden of the plan. He nods.
"Attention everyone!" He yells
The whole crowd goes silent and focuses on him.
"I have something very important to ask someone." He says
I pull out my phone and start recording.
"This girl has me the happiest person on Earth. She lights up my day just by smiling and I've loved her for quite some time now. So, Kelly, would you do me the honor of going out on a date with me?"
I drop my phone. I can't believe it. Jaden asked out Kelly, the love of my life. I can barely watch what happens next.
