Chapter 41: Bullies

Kelly's pov:

Beep

Beep

Beep

The saddest part of the day, waking up for school.

I slowly stretch and shut off my alarm. I turn over to see Braden still asleep, with a smile on his face.

"B!!" I yell, shaking him.

"What?" He asks, sleepily.

"Time to get up." I crawl out of bed and walk over to my closet. "Hey, what were you dreaming about?" I ask him, not turning around.

I feel a pair of arms wrap around my waist and he whispers in my ear. "You."

I hug his arms then turn around to kiss him. He smiles and picks me up.

"Put me down! I have to get dressed! And so do you!" I laugh-yell at him.

"C'mon, just one more kiss? Please?" He whines.

"Anything for you." I say, then I kiss him on the lips for about 10 seconds.

"Now put me down." I tell him, pulling away.

He sets me down and I grab some clothes to put on. I pick out some light-wash jeans curled up at the bottom, a simple t-shirt and my white AllStar converse. I change in the bathroom and I also put on some deodorant, perfume, and mascara. Next I brush my teeth and brush my hair. I leave it straight down and exit the bathroom.

"Wow. You look so gorgeous without even trying." Braden says, pulling his shirt off to change.

"Thanks B." I can't help but stare at his 6-pack.

"Like what you see?" He asks, noticing my staring. 

"Maybe a little." I tease. "Hurry up and get dressed now, we don't wanna be late."

I leave him in my room and go downstairs to have breakfast. My mom is already cooking it in the kitchen and my brother is playing on his phone at the table.

I sit down across from him. "What are we eating?" I ask.

"Bacon and sausage."

"Yum."

Someone's hands cover my eyes, Braden.

"Guess who?" He asks like I don't know who could possibly be behind me.

"Hmm. Is it Braden?"

"You got me!" He yells, uncovering my eyes and giving me a kiss on the cheek.

"Ugh get a room you two." Joey says, getting up from the table.

I just laugh. Braden sits down and my mom brings over our food. We all eat in pretty much silence then it's time to leave.

I grab my bag, Braden grabs his, and Joey grabs his.

We all pile into my dad's car and off we go.

Joey sits in the passenger seat with B and I in the back.

Once we arrive at the school, I take a deep breath as I get out of the car. I'm super nervous for what's behind those doors.

Where I was raped.
Where I was trapped.
Where I was helpless.

Braden notices my fear and takes my hand. We walk in together. And at first everything seems fine, it's just school. Same as I left it.

I have to leave B when I go to first period. He kisses me goodbye and whispers something into my ear.

"Don't worry, I'm just one text away if you need me."
