Chapter 48: Friday

Braden's pov:

I wake up with Kelly still sleeping. I gently shake her awake and we both get dressed. I run across the street to change, and then come back to have breakfast.

A half hour later, we arrive at school and I walk Kelly to her locker like usual.

"See you at lunch." I say, kissing her goodbye.

"Bye Braden." She says, kissing my cheek.

School goes by fast. It's already the end of the day. Lunch was great, Jaden sat with us again and it really felt like things were getting back to normal.

I head to Kelly's locker. "Hey beautiful." I say, kissing her cheek.

"Hey cutie." She says, kissing my lips.

I take her hand and walk her home, just like I always do.

She's pretty tired from staying up late last night at the hospital, so I carry inside and up to her bed. I lay her down and tuck her in.

I'm about to leave so she can sleep, when she asks me to stay. "Please don't leave."

I lay down next to her. "I won't." I whisper.

She smiles and snuggles into my chest while I wrap my arms around her.

We both fall asleep within minutes.

I wake up to Kelly's alarm going off.

6am? We slept all day? Damn, we must've been really tired.

Kelly jolts awake and shuts off her alarm. "It's already time for school?" She asks me.

"Yeah, we slept through the whole night." I tell her, getting out of bed.

She climbs out from underneath the covers and grabs some clothes to change into. I kiss her goodbye and head across the street to get dressed.

I put on sweatpants, a baseball t-shirt, my elites, and Nike sneakers. I run back to Kelly's house for breakfast.

I just walk in because I'm practically living there now. I sit at the table and wait for Kelly to come downstairs. A couple minutes later, she's sitting next to me.

She looks gorgeous as usual. She's wearing dark jeans with a plain pink sweatshirt, and her uggs. I kiss her cheek. "Morning babe." I say.

"Morning to you too handsome." She says.

We eat our pancakes and head out the door. The ride to school is pretty much silent, and once we arrive at school, I take Kelly's hand.

"It's Friday." I whisper in her ear. "You know what that means?"

"Our date is tonight." She says, smiling.

"Can't wait." I kiss her hand as I'm holding it and she blushes.

"Where are you taking me?" She asks.

"It's a surprise." I wink and by now, we're at her locker, so I kiss her goodbye. "Have a good day." I yell to her as I'm walking away.

The first couple of periods go by quick. Now it's time for lunch. I arrive at the cafeteria to see my whole squad already there. I take my seat next to Kelly and greet her with a kiss on the cheek.

"I never realized how cute you two are." Jaden says.

"Aww thanks J." Kelly says, wrapping her arms around my waist.

"I can't believe I ever tried to break Kraden up." Jaden says, I think to himself.

I laugh and eat my lunch.

15 minutes later and it's off to 5th period.

"See you soon." I say to Kelly.

"Bye babe." She says, kissing my cheek.

I walk to math and sit down in my seat. The teacher talks about the pyathgtorem theorem, but I daydream the whole class about Kelly.

One more period down and it's the end of the day. I run to Kelly's locker and pick her up from behind, throwing her over my shoulder.

"Braden! Put me down!" She laugh-yells, hitting my butt to make me stop.

"Nope. I'm carrying you home." I say, then I shut her locker door and walk out of the school.

She's laughing hysterically and I'm smiling uncontrollably.

I carry her like this all the way back to her house, where I finally put her down.

"You didn't have to do that." She says, kissing my cheek.

"I know. But I wanted to." I say, kissing her forehead.

She takes my hand and we go inside her house.

"So when's our date?" She asks me.

"I'm gonna pick you up at 5:30." I tell her.

"I better start getting ready then!" She screams. "Braden, go home, I gotta perfect myself." She yells, kissing me goodbye and running upstairs.

"You'll look beautiful in anything Kel-Bel!" I yell as she runs away. I laugh and walk out the door, across the street to my house.

A couple minutes later there's a knock on my door.

I'm home alone so I answer it.

It's cole. "Hey, what are you doing here?" I ask him.

"Tonight's your date with Kelly, right?" He asks.

"Yeah."

"Well I'm here to help you get ready." He says.

"Help me? I think I can handle it." I laugh.

"Oh yeah? What are you gonna wear? What are you gonna say?"

I suddenly realize I have no clue. "Alright get in here." I pull Cole inside and we run up to my bedroom.

We still have a little time before I have to start getting ready so we talk a little bit first.

"Do you even realize Braden?" Cole asks out of nowhere.

"Realize what?"

"How whipped you are over Kelly."

Color rises to my cheeks. "Yeah, I love her so much."

Cole chuckles. "Dude, you are so whipped."

"I know, and I'm loving it." I admit.

I fell for Kelly Anne O'Keefe, and I fell pretty damn hard.
