Amber's POV
Today was the day that I was going to have the first surgery to start to remove the tumor. I was waiting in the hospital room with mom and dad, and it had been worked out to where I would have my next surgery after this one, and then I'd do the Priceless tour with dad and Luke. Mom was sitting beside me, and we were snuggled close together, and dad was pacing. I watched him go back and forth, and after the four hundredth time, I spoke up.

"Were you this nervous when you and mom got married?" He laughed nervously, sitting on the edge of the bed with mom.
"No. I was this nervous when we got you. Your mother was nervous enough for the both of us." He took my hand, smiling gently. Then, Dr. Watson came in with a couple of nurses.
"Hey Amber. Ready as you'll ever be?" I smiled nervously, nodding, and mom and dad stood up, and I smiled at them. Mom kissed me on the cheek, and dad gave my hand one last reassuring squeeze. He slowly let go as they wheeled the bed out, down the hall, and to the operating room. Dr. Watson came back wearing scrubs, gloves, and a mask. I saw that the other people in there were dressed similarly. Dr. Watson picked up a mask, moving towards me.

"Amber, we're going to put you under anesthetic gas, okay?" I nodded, and she placed the mask on my face, and the last thing I remembered was her praying that God would guide them, and that his will would be done. Then, everything went black.

Joel's POV
Six hours, thirty-four minutes, and seven seconds. That's how long Amber had been in there, and I was pacing again. I had gone to another meeting, and while there, we had prayed for Amber. The Twitter page was filled with people praying for Amber to be okay. Luke had been a little jumpy, which I sort of understood. He didn't really like hospitals, which I didn't get, but he and Amber had grown closer even just in the last two days. Now, I was dozing in Amber's room with a sleeping Moriah beside me. Then, Dr. Watson opened the door, and a bed was wheeled back in, and Amber was still out. Moriah was startled awake, and when she saw Amber, she relaxed again.

"We got most of it out, but there was one part that is kind of close to her brain stem, so I want to at some point, get a doctor here who knows how to do surgeries like that better than I do. She should be waking up in about fifteen minutes." She shook our hands, and left. Moriah started dozing again, and I got up to use the restroom. When I got back, Moriah was asleep, and Amber was just stirring. I went over, taking her hand, and when she opened her eyes, I put my finger to my lips, and she nodded.

Amber's POV
I saw a tiny bit of light, and then it got closer and closer. Then, I heard quiet snoring, steady beeping, and I struggled to open my eyes. My head was killing me, but it wasn't like the headaches. It was slightly different. Then. I remembered. The surgery. I opened my eyes, blinking at the bright light, and I saw dad, who put a finger to his lips. I nodded, and I groped for the button on the side of the bed, and it moved up, allowing me to sit up without having to move pillows around or get up. I could tell dad had been worried, and I gripped his hand again. He slipped my bracelet back on my wrist, and I smiled. Now wearing it made my wrist feel bare, so I was glad to be wearing it again.

"How'd the meeting go?" I whispered.
"Good. Luke told me to let him know when you woke up." I chuckled.
"Then text him. We can't call him, 'coz that would wake mom. If he wants to know that I'm awake, you can text him." He nodded, and he showed me the text before he sent it. It said, 'Amber's awake, and she is wanting Swedish Fish." I laughed quietly as dad sent it. Luke loved Swedish Fish, as it is one of the few sweets he can have. Dad and I were both pranksters, so we enjoyed doing things like that together. I leaned against him, reading the response from Luke. 'Tell her to get her own. Be there in twenty.' I chuckled. Nothing, not a boy, not even this cancer could destroy the relationship that dad and I had. As I had said before, my home is where my heart is, and my heart is on two places. With God, and with my parents, and nothing could ever change that.
