Chapter 12
"Intoxication"

"So if you'd like, we could decorate these vases with small little treats. For instance, if he enjoys any sort of sport we can get these delicious chocolates that are wrapped in a foil decorated as any type of sports ball!" Ms. Langenheim grinned and clapped her hands together, "That sounds perfect! Cody does enjoy baseball!" I nodded and closed the catalog. "Will that be all for today? I'll have the chocolates by tomorrow evening, so if you'd like you can ask your son what sort of music he prefers and such and I'll see you on Monday." She smiled and nodded, grabbing her purse and standing up. "Thank you so much. Maybe I'll bring my son on Monday and he'll give you some more ideas on how he'd prefer the party." I nodded and shook her hand, "That'd be wonderful, see you then!"

I sighed as she closed the door behind her. Bryan then walked in with a cold water bottle. "Stressful day?" I nodded and took the bottle from him, "Thanks." He smiled and sat down beside me. "I was going to ask you if you and Diane would accompany Daniel and I to this party but you seem a too tired." I chuckled and shook my head, "I'm never too tired to party, especially on a Friday night." He grinned and stood up, "Well sweetie, you should head home and change, I'll text you the address. See you later!"

Diane smiled as I walked into the bedroom, "How was your day beautiful?" I sighed, taking off my jacket. "Stressful and you?" She smiled and continued to read her novel, "It was actually pretty relaxing, I haven't had a day off in the longest." I smiled at her, "Great, well since you've been here all day, why not go out with me tonight? Bryan invited us to this party." She squealed and instantly got up, "I now have an excuse to wear this new dress my sister bought me!" I giggled and began to look for an outfit myself.

"Grab somebody sexy, ell them hey!" I giggled and grabbed a hold of Diane's hand, "Hey", I whispered to her. She grinned and pecked my lips. "I actually have to pee so once I'm out of the bathroom we can hit the dance floor", she whispered back, getting up from her seat. I nodded and took out my phone. "Strange", I thought to myself. I had two new messages from an unknown number. With hesitation I opened them up.

"You look pretty hot tonight."

A chill ran down my back. What the? I scrolled down and read the last one, "Was she your rebound after me?" I quickly looked up, eyeing my surroundings in hopes of finding anyone I possibly knew besides Diane, Daniel, and Bryan. After a couple of minutes of looking around and uncertainty, I deleted the messages and turned off my phone.

"Thanks again for inviting us, I really needed to get out of that apartment." I smiled awkwardly at the hostess and nodded. "Yeah, thanks again." She smiled at me and quickly turned to Diane. "So, I'm actually planning on going shopping tomorrow and I was hoping that you'd join me." Diane giggled beside me, clearly intoxicated. "Sure!" I turned to her and shook my head. "Alright, that's enough. We better head home now." She pouted as she followed me out. "Why are you such a buzzkill?" I sighed and opened the door for her, gently wrapping the seatbelt around her. "I don't know? Maybe because she was clearly hitting on my girlfriend." She scoffed, "And you thought I would actually fall for it? Do you think that low of me-e!?" I rolled my eyes and adjusted my own seatbelt. "Well it sure seemed like it, I mean hell, you agreed to go on a date with her!" She gasped and undid her belt, "Now you're calling me a slut? I'd rather walk than ride in the same car with you!" And with that she slammed the car door and ran back inside the party. What the hell? She's never reacted like that, not even intoxicated. Before I could even process what was happening a knock on my window startled me. "Ahh!" He laughed coldly and he reached to open the door. "Erin! Oh how I missed you!" My eyes grew big, tears threatening to fall. "What are you doing here?!"
