"Warning: new hull breaches detected. If you are no Passenger sub-decks 10, 11, 13, 23, 25, or 37, for your own safety, please walk calmly to the nearest airlock before they are permanently sealed," said the Leopold's computer. As Conrad is reloading he's weapon and cleaning himself up.
"Respond," says Conrad.
"I reached the bridge most of the crew were not so lucky. What is your current position?" asks Mia.
"Headed to medical on an elevator. Seems to working all right," response Conrad.
Mia begins to explain to Conrad what happened.
"It seems we collided with a massive vessel as we dropped out of hyper-space. One much larger than the Leopold," Mia explains.
"Not possible. The comm. would've detected..." said Conrad
"It should have but it didn't. Our systems seem to be getting glitchier by the moment," said Mia.
"So we can't trust anything mechanical. Big surprise. What about the other ship? Any survivors?" asks Conrad.
"What we've hit is no Fleet ship. It is unlike anything I have ever seen before. No markings. It's old... It is a ghost ship. Or rather, should be. Sensors are picking up signs of life forms on board," says Mia.
"Slimy hostile ones, by any chance?" asks Conrad.
"Have you already established contact?" asks Mia.
The elevator hits the medical floor and the door opens, Conrad sees doctors trying to treat wounded envoys.
"You could say that," said Conrad.
"That arm looks bad," says one of the doctors.
"I'm just spit-balling here but I suggest that we pull back nuke the ghost ship and get the hell out of here," said Conrad.
"It is not that simple. The ships are joined together. We might be able to shake our way loose but I cannot raise Paxton in mainframe," says Mia.
"I'm sorry, sir, painkillers are in short supply at the moment. I've hardly enough for the casualties I have here... God knows how many more are out there...," says the doctor.
Conrad looks around him and feels that he must try to help some of the surviving envoys within the Leopold. A very wounded envoy starts to speak:
"Their down there.... Marlow..... Fresleven... don't know how longer they can hold out... somebody help them...."
The doctor comes over and says:
"Just try to rest."
"There are some things I need to do here," said Conrad.
"They will have to wait, Conrad," responds Mia.
"Sorry didn't quite catch that, must be losing our connection," said Conrad.
"Conr...," says Mia.
"Disconnect," said Conrad.
Thanks to the help of a physician he made his to the medical control room with some setbacks. Alien setbacks. The Medical Control Room relieved the positions of two survivor groups. The first group of survivors had Marlow. When Conrad had arrived to the location of Marlow, the aliens had swarmed the barricade the group had placed but two sentry guns were shut down and the start up sequence was all that was required. Conrad had to start up two terminals and each were on the other side of the room. But before he started up the turrets, Conrad fell to his knees, seeing the survivors reminded him of his family that he lost nearly ten years ago to a nuclear meltdown at the power plant his wife was working at and the radiation spread to the house they were living that had their new born daughter, Chloe.
Conrad wasn't born to the name Theodore J. Conrad, his really name was Ethan Castro. Before the war, Ethan was a professionally welder. His wife's name was Ashton and she was the most beautiful girl in the world, they met in a financial literary class during high school. He remembered that day like it was yesterday. She had natural brown curls, wearing black leggings and a blue sweater with a plain black t-shirt under it. She was the greatest thing that ever entered his life. After high school they moved in together and then the war came out five years later. The war started when they were only 22, Ethan was drafted and served for three years and the war lasted for six. When he got home Ashton told him she was pregnant. Two years later they had their kid, but the accident changed him, he went and fought the rest of the war and during the fighting, he never stopped thinking about her. Just seeing the survivors helpless reminded him of her. He turned on the turrets and the carnage began, the sound of bullet shells hitting the floor could be heard and the roars of dying aliens could be heard from across the ship.
Conrad helped as many survivors as he could while doing so he was looking for a way of the Medical area. He saved some from a headrest gas and others from the deadly aliens. After saving them, he heads for another elevator to get the engine room. He finds a terminal that allows him to refresh his ammo and buy some items that can help him during missions. He hears a loud roar as he turns the corner while leaving the terminal,
"What the hell was that", Conrad says.
Turns back up the hallway, boom a larger alien comes crashing through the wall, the turret next to the creature starting blasting the hell out of it but each bullet bounced of its skin like Captain America's shield bouncing off walls. Conrad toke off running with the creature five feet behind him. Conrad made it to a door safely and as the door closed, the beast tried to break down the door. And like always the aliens like to ambush the hell out of him. Exits through a second door and the beast breaks through another wall and the chase began once again. Conrad was able to make the beast charge at him at its max speed and he jumped into a room making the beast slide through two walls and had a shocking death. The path to the elevator was in sight and he fought through a few more aliens before heading to the engine room. While Ethan moved on to his next objective, his wife memory brought tears to eyes. He pulled out the ring and found a chair to sit on, he looked up and back to the ring.
"I know you can see and hear me, I'm wish you here to guide me cause I'm so lost," says Ethan.
He looks at the ring and somehow he could see his wife and she spoke to him,
"Baby, I know you did everything you could and I'll always guide you," says Ashton.
"I love you and I never stop thinking about you because you changed my life," Conrad responds.
"You've changed mine too my love, now get off your feet and keep kicking ass," says Ashton.
Conrad gets up and shot an alien right in the eye and it fell to the ground, he started making his way to the engine room.
