The night has arrived and the stars were shining brightly as the moon was shining even brighter.

I walked towrds my window and kept staring and mesmerizing the beautiful dark night. It was around midnight and I still couldn't sleep. I suffered from insomnia and what made it worse was that I was far away from my family that I couldn't see whenever I wanted. I was from a very prestigious family that lived the opposite of the country which was far away and my mission was to protect the princess at all times and I didn't want to disappoint my family or my country.

I was drowned in my thoughts but was snapped to reality when I saw someone running in the garden towards the front gates. It was very dark so I couldn't indetify who it was. I grabbed my sword that was placed aside and ran out of my chamber, down the hallway out of the palace. I was fast enough to catch up to the unknown person.

I lifted my sword up towards the person's neck causing them to stop. They wore a cape and covered their head with it. "Reveal yourself before I hurt you." I said through my clenched teeth.

They slowly placed their hands on the top of their head and removed the cape slowly

They slowly placed their hands on the top of their head and removed the cape slowly. My eyes went wide when I noticed who the unknown person was and I removed the sword out of their face.

I bowed slightly. "I didn't know it was you. I'm very sorry princess. I hope that you'll forgive me." I said genuinely as I was still bowing down and looking at the ground.

"It's fine but you scared me." She said still shaking from fear as she placed her hand over her heart.

"Where are you going at this time Princess?" I asked her curiously. "I would like to look around the village." She answered sadly but it came out as a whisper maybe she knew that I would disagree so she tried to act like she was sad.

"You know that you're not allowed to leave the castle." I told her as I crossed my arms over my chest.

"Please don't tell anyone. Just act like you didn't see me." She said hoping that I'll agree. "Princess. You can't beg anyone. You're going to be queen and can't act like that." I scolded her.

"Alright then. I'm leaving, now excuse me." She said and as she bowed slightly then turn around leaving.

I called her multiple times but she kept walking. I ran after her and grabbed her by her wrist which caused her to turn around facing me.

"What are you doing?" She asked but I could tell that she was shocked by my actions.

Her face was only a few inches away from me which made my heart beat faster as if it was going to jump out of my chest. It was all of a sudden maybe that's why I felt nervous.

I backed away and apologized. "Would you like to come with me or should I just leave on my own?" She asked me.

I was debating whether I should go with her or force her to stay. I knew that I couldn't change her mind and she would leave without me so I sighed heavily then followed her.
