I was in my chamber reading a book when I heard a soft knock on my door. I placed the book aside and walked towards the door. It was around midnight so I wondered who could it be. I opened the door to see the princess standing in front of the door. "Is there something wrong princess?" I asked concerned because she never came to my chamber in the middle of the night.

"I want to go out." She blurted out without thinking. I placed my hand over her mouth scared that someone would hear her because her voice was loud. I looked up and down the hallway making sure no one was there.

I looked back at her and noticed that my palm was still on her lips. I panicked and pulled my hand away. "I'm sorry princess." She shook her head meaning that it was fine.

"Do you need something from the village? I can go get it for you." I told her. She shook her head and said "I want to go. Would you like to come with me?" She asked hoping that I would agree.

"Princess, I think that's enough. You go out a lot. You can't just go and come back whenever you want. You'll get caught." I whispered.

She rolled her eyes and said "Fine. I don't need your help." After that she walked down the hallway towards her chamber. I sighed heavily and walked back into my chamber then closed the door behind me.

I didn't want to hurt her feelings but I didn't want her to think that she could get away with anything and everything. She had to be responsible most of the time.

I sat back on my chair and continued reading the novel. An hour or so passed by and I finished reading the book. I stood up to stretch and walked towards my window.

I was drowned in my thoughts until I was snapped back to reality when I saw Princess Edlyn jumping over the wall. I felt like my heart sank when she jumped but I noticed that someone caught her. He turned his face and I saw him clearly. It was Prince Jonghyun. Both of them were smiling and giggling. They hurried towards the castle as if nothing happened.

When I didn't agree to go with her she didn't care and went to ask Prince Jonghyun to leave with her which I'm sure he happily accepted. When I was reading she took the chance to leave without even thinking of my words. She didn't care about me.

I felt furious and heartbroken. I was debating if I should act like I didn't see her sneak in with Prince Jonghyun or if I should leave my chamber and wait for them in the hallway to see their reaction.

I couldn't just sit down, I felt like I was suffocating. I sprinted towards the door and walked out my chamber down the hallway.

Prince Jonghyun's chamber was in the same floor as the princess' chamber and mine too. I walked down the hallway to see that they were walking up the stairs. I stood in the hallway as my arms were crossed over my chest waiting for them impatiently.

When they saw me the stopped talking and walking. The facial expression that was plastered on the princess' face was shock and fear but Prince Jonghyun looked calm and unbothered.

"Where were you?" I asked her in as I raised voice slightly. She started stuttering and Prince Jonghyun spoke up "You know that you don't have the right to raise your voice at the princess right?"

At that moment I noticed that I might've overreacted and remembered that I was just a bodyguard to her nothing more.

The Prince noticed that I froze at my spot not knowing what to say and a smirk formed on his lips. "Princess Edlyn, you know what are the consequences if you get caught right?"

I then looked at the right facing the Prince and said "The king gave me permission to take care of her and even scold her if she does something wrong. She's not allowed to leave the castle without me. If the king finds out that she left she'll be in huge trouble and if he also finds out that she left without me I don't think you'll still be welcomed here."

After those words came out I knew that I crossed the line but I couldn't just watch him win her over also if she was hurt I would never be able to forgive myself.

"Minhyun! Don't you think you're crossing the line? What you just said is rude." The princess exclaimed as she glared at me.

"Tomorrow after breakfast you have to practice fencing. I'll see you then." I said and bowed my head slightly before turning around and leaving the two behind.

I walked into my chamber and closed the door behind not looking back at them not even once. My back was leaned on the door. I sighed heavily and slid down until I was sitting on the ground.

I ran my fingers through my hair disheveling it and groaned. I was truly disappointed in myself, I tried to be respectful but I couldn't because he was with someone I cherished.

I hugged my knees and placed my head on my knees. I felt heartbroken, I loved someone who could never be mine. I loved someone that the universe will always keep us apart from each other. We were from two different classes, I wasn't a prince or ruled a country but I still had a heart like any other person.
