May 5th

It's Cinco de Mayo! The fifth of May! A Mexican holiday!

My grandparents are out to the Mexican culture festival at the other side of town for the evening.

So Levi invited me to join his family for dinner at a Mexican restaurant.

Levi's family is so sweet.

It's funny when Levi's young brother Carson, embarrasses Levi in front of me.

Also, every time I'm around Levi's family, Levi's younger sister, Paige always wants to be with me.

"I want to sit next to Roxanna." Paige said.

"Paige, let Levi sit next to Roxanna." Carson said.

"It's okay." I said. "Paige can sit on my left and Levi can sit on my right." And that is what happened.

Levi wanted to share what I was having. I did not mind at all. So I decided to get Levi and I some nachos with white rice, black beans, mild buffalo chicken, tomatoes, salsa, tons of cheese, sour cream and guacamole. Plus I got chips on the side because I knew that this was going to be a huge plate.

When the food was served, I was right.

The plate was humongous.

After dinner, Levi wanted to walk me home. His parents let him.

"Nice seeing you again Roxanna." Mrs. Easton said.

"Thanks for dinner." I said.

"Thanks for joining us." Mr. Easton said. "Come visit us anytime Roxanna."

"I will." I said.

Levi and I decided to take the very long way to my house. It was a very good idea.

"See, my family loves you." Levi said.

"Paige and I would seriously fight over you." I laughed then blushed.

"We have not walked around town like this in a very long time." Levi said.

"True." I said.

"You see Roxanna Kathryn Brooks, things are changing." Levi said. "Things are changing for the better."

"If you say so." I say.

"For crying out loud, Rox, you are going to star on Broadway, then win Tonies, Ocscars and Grammies!" Levi shouts.

I laugh. Then I say, "Stop."

"Yet I still don't know what I'm going to do." Levi said. "It is so hard to choose."

"Grandpa Brooks tells me each morning when I leave the house for school to keep my eyes wide open." I said. "He told me that since I got my necklace, it's what my father used to say to me when I was younger."

"That's cute." Levi said. "At least you found your way."

"Levi. You. Will. Find. Your. Way." I said. "Trust me."

"I obviously do since I have been with you for eight months now." Levi said.

"We've known each other for nine months." I said.

"I know." Levi said. "I was there silly."

Levi's finger lightly taps my nose. I get chills all over my body and I start to shiver.

"You're cold." Levi said.

"No, I am not cold." I say.

Levi takes off his sweater and drapes it over my shoulders. Then he says, "I know when you are cold Rox, do not lie to me."

I laugh. "You count that as lying?" I ask Levi.

"Pretty much." Levi said.

I sigh. Then I apologize to Levi.

"Apology accepted." Levi said.

Then he puts his arm around my shoulder.

We walk the rest of the way home.

When Levi and I get home, we go up to my room and cherry knotted.

Each time we kiss, it just shows that we are attached to each other.

"Honestly, I really can't go a day without kissing you at least once." Levi said.

"Me neither." I whimper.

"Why are you whimpering?" Levi asks me.

"I can't go without your lips for a second after you kiss me for a long time."

Levi gives me a light peck on my lips.

"Better?" He asks me.

I thread my fingers through his hair, gently tugging before crashing my lips to his.

Obviously, it didn't work.

That just made me want him more.
