June 9th

After softball practice yesterday I had Riker meet up with me to go get smoothies before we went to practice the routine.

While getting smoothies and warming up together, we got to know each other a lot, which helped us gain chemistry.

My dance instructor loved the routine. She said that every time we danced it, it got better and better.

We had danced until closing again. My dance instructor had us help close the studio then took the both of us out to dinner.

When my dance instructor dropped me off at home, I was so exhausted. Yet, I knew I had tons of homework to do.

I did all of my homework and went to bed late. The last time I went to bed that late was the night before I took my SAT a few months ago.

At school today, it was a really boring day. I was able to stay up and be able to function in all of my classes.

Softball practice was cancelled today along with the game we were supposed to have tomorrow. The other team forfeited meaning we get to move up to the semi division finals.

So I went straight into the dance studio and jumped into some classes with Riker.

"Didn't know that you liked ballet." I tease Riker.

"It's beneficial to athleticism." Riker says. "At my hometown, my friends and I from the football team decided to do this."

That's funny.

After the dance classes, Riker and I had some time to ourselves before his aunt also known as my dance instructor wanted to work on the routine some more.

"Has that piano been played?" Riker said.

"It hasn't been played in a few years." I say.

Riker and I walk over to the piano. Riker tests out the keys. The music was flawless. It brought me back to the times when this piano filled up my ballet classes when I was younger.

I take a seat on the floor as Riker fills up the room with music.

"Why do you dance?" Riker asks me.

I lean over to one leg to stretch before saying, "I dance to live." Then I go over my to my other leg and stretch before saying, "I dance to be free." I get up and walk to the center of the room and do some turns. Then I say, "I dance to be me." I go to the corner of the room and do some basic across the floor stuff from ballet class.

"Dance enables you to find yourself and lose yourself at the same time." I say.

"Prove it." Riker said.

"Excuse me?" I ask.

"You're not wearing your shoes." Riker says. "You're wearing regular dance attire, black crop top with thin straps and high waisted shorts."

"Where are you going with this?" I ask.

"Get your hair out of your ponytail." Riker says. "I'm going to play Fool Me Once by Jess Goodwin and I want you to dance freely."

"Okay." I say as I take my hair out of my ponytail and let it loose.

"Even if your hair is in front of your face, let it be." Riker says.

I walk to the center of the room. I lay down on the floor and stay there for a few seconds.

Riker starts playing the song. Once the song starts, your character becomes awake. Once the song ends, your character falls asleep.

I danced as if there was an audience around me and as if my work has left then speechless.

When the music stopped, there were people on the side, even my dance instructor taking video and seeing what I was capable of. Then there was a wave of applause. I curtsied.

"See?" Riker says. "Now people know what you can do freely. Everyone post this all over the place. #DanceFreely."

"Then post your own and tag your studios and who made you do this." I add.

"That sounds like a great idea." My dance instructor said.

Everyone left.

Riker and I work on our dance for two hours.

"This dance is absolutely beautiful." My dance instructor said. "I want to film it and put it up on the studio's website after the competition."

Riker and I nod in agreement.

"Riker should be in part of the narration." I say. "He should say the second sentence in the first part, the fourth part and the fifth part."

I go record the parts with Riker. Then we do the piece over with the new track.

My dance instructor loved it and called it a day.

When I finally got in my phone, it was blown up like crazy. I was being tagged on everything.

I was becoming famous by being people's inspirations to #DanceFreely.

"See?" Riker said.
