A/N: This is not an actual FIYM song. I made it up to go with my story. Sorry you won't know how the actual song goes. Just enjoy the lyrics. All rights reserved to me.
Sutton is awakened by her phone buzzing in her ear. She rubs her eyes, sitting up in her bed. It was 4am. She checked her notifications. It was from YouTube: FIYMVEVO posted a video.
She sat up fully and opened the notification. It brought her to the audio of FIYM's new song.
Summer Time, Forever in Your Mind
It's everyone's favorite time of year
Summer's finally here
I wanna spend it
I wanna spend it
Wrapping you in my arms
Saying hello to your heart
It's summer time
We'll be rockin' those rhymes
It's summer time
With Forever in Your Mind
It's summer time
Let's go to the beach
Let's swim in the waves
Come have fun with me
This time will never fade
It's summer time
Hangin' out with the fam
Its summer time
Sittin' in front of the fan
It's summer-summer, summer time
It's summer-summer, summer time
(X2)
Come on
Summer will be gone in awhile
Come on
We'll party all night
Oh-ooooohh
It's summer time
We'll be rockin' those rhymes
It's summer time
With Forever in Your Mind
It's summer time
Let's go to the beach
Let's swim in the waves
Come have fun with me
This time will never fade
It's summer time
Hangin' out with the fam
It's summer time
Sittin' in front of the fan
It's summer-summer, summer time
It's summer-summer, summer time
(X3)
The song ends. Tears stream down Sutton's face. She couldn't believe they would do that. Write a song of "happiness", when they know she isn't happy.
Did they really want to rub it in that they're happier than her?
...
"Sutton?" Someone knocked on her bedroom door. It opened. "Are you okay? It's almost noon and you're-" Jon cuts himself off when he see Sutton's blotchy face.
He sits on her bed, taking her trembling body into his arms. Jon caressed her hair, until she calmed down, only to be left with puffy, red eyes.
"They," Sutton trailed, trying to choke back the oncoming sobs.
"Who?" Jon asked, already knowing the answer.
"Ricky," breath, "Emery, and L-liam. They m-made a song, just t-to rub in their happiness." Sutton breathed deeply, finally controlling the tears.
"If they're happy, so what?" Jon wiped away the salty tears from Sutton's face. "You need to be happy yourself. You need to forget them," he said.
Sutton nodded, looking into his crystal blue eyes.
He held her chin, looking from her lips to her speckled eyes.
Jon leaned in to kiss Sutton.
She leaned away.
"Jon," Sutton said, concern in her voice.
"I'm sorry, that was stupid. I was stupid," Jon says, fiddling with Sutton's blankets, not looking her in the eye. He didn't regret trying.
"No, no you're not. It's just not the right time for me," Sutton says, trying to get him to look at her but it's no use.
Jon nods his head and gets up.
"I'll be in the game room," was all he said and he walked out, leaving Sutton there, staring after him.
Sutton felt guilty, like she had lead him on. But she liked Liam, not Jon. But Liam had left her, Jon had stayed.
She was torn. Was she to go after a guy that left her without explanation or a guy that gives her an explanation when he leaves?
