Girls running and screaming, parents rushing their kids out the doors in a panic. No one expected this. Not here! Not now! Everyone’s only instinct is to run. Run and get somewhere safe.

As I bolted from my seat I enter into the massive hall connecting all the entrances to the sections the divided the arena for fans to sit, I stop and stare at all the fright and panic not noticing that I lost Alex. Spinning around looking behind me as I get pushed and my feet stepped on, I can’t see her anywhere. “ALEX!” I yell. But who could hear over all the screaming that was escaping every fan girl and parents mouth that ran for their lives. I close my eyes and try to listen. Blocking out all of the screams. “Paisley?” I can hear just very slightly. “Paisley where are you?” I open my eyes and look through the crowd and I can see Alex panicking, searching for me.

As she spun around I could see the fear on her face and the relief as she spotted me in all the ciaos. She made her way through the crowd as I did the same to meet her. Both of us getting pushed and almost run over in the process. “Paisley!” I can hear her more clearly as we got closer. But then the screams got louder as a gun shot was fired. More panic erupted as Alex and I stopped and stared at each other just a few feet apart.

She could see the fear on my face but she could also see that I was thinking of doing something stupid. “Paisley don’t!” she said with the serious look. More serious than ever giving what was going on. But I just couldn’t leave. I knew something had to be done as I turned to look behind me at the empty hall where fear and horror were at its worst.

“PAISLEY!” Alex ordered. As I turned around slowly to look back at her she soon saw that she couldn’t stop me as her mouth open just slightly in shock. “Alex. I have to.” I said with as calm of a voice as I could even though my heart was pounding with fear and adrenaline. “Just go. Go somewhere safe. And get help.” she nodded and turned and followed the others running to the nearest exit. “I’m SO grounded.” I said out loud to myself as I run the opposite way toward possibly my doom. Breathe Paisley… Breathe.
