It was Regulus Atum, the son of the demon who murdered his family. "What are you doing here?" Euandros stammered.
"What do you think?" he snickered which revealed thousands of small sharp teeth in his mouth. "To continue my father's legacy," he snorted as he laughed in a hyena like voice. "To kill you and that pathetic loser you helped escape." His faced turned serious and his red eyes narrowed.
"Why," Euandros asked gathering up his confidence ready for an explanation that he would definitely not accept.
"Before my father died he passed on all the magical power he absorbed from your family and your kind before he and his army massacred them. Before he died, my father shared a prophecy with me regarding a young man with magical powers who will take over my rule if he is not destroyed. His last wish is that I destroy that faerie and his guardian."
Euandros asked, "Why was my family killed?'
Regulus responded, "Long ago, demons and magical creatures were once allies fighting on the same side. My father was a leader in the army of demons, faeries and magical creatures. It was decided that he would be the next ruler .Our fathers were friends until my father discovered how your father and his magical creatures were planning to overthrow him." Euandros had never heard this story before from his father. Seeing Euandros' puzzled face Regulus straightened his black coat and continued speaking.
"My father, Gabr, trusted your father but his betrayal made him the enemy. From that time on, my father swore to eliminate all magical creatures. Every time, my father killed one of your kind, he transferred the magical powers to himself. With each killing, he grew more and more powerful and became the next ruler of the underworld, but he never completed his mission. I am here to carry out his mission and destroy anyone who will get in my way to power."
Regulus with a sly smirk on his face continued' "I had learned that you and that faerie were living among the humans in human form. I had no choice but to kill every human I encountered hoping you were among them." Euandros, unable to continue hearing pulled out the sword that was strapped to Regulus' belt in swift motion. He generated electricity through the iron sword as he sliced the man in front of him. He could hear the ripping of the flesh until he heard the body slump to the floor. A salty and bitter taste had spread through his mouth as blots of blood splashed onto his face. He felt the power of his family that was rightfully his burst through him. Satisfied, Euandros pulled the black sword sheath from the limp body and fastened it to his. Lucan rushed back to the scene grateful to Euandros and accepting of what he really was.
