Elisabeth looked at the blurry little black and white picture in her hand. She gave a small sigh of happiness at her old memories as her young twins, now nine and just as pale as her and dark haired as their father, chased each other around her big red and black chair. They used to be so sweet and well behaved. In the calmest voice she could muster at the time Lis said, "Lizzy, Jack, sit down in your chairs and wait for your father to bring you your mice."
The two sat down as quick as speed itself and made not a peep as Count Dracula and Mavis came through the door carrying plates of mice and scream cheese. "Hey, Honey," said Dracula as he handed Elisabeth a plate of mice and scream-cheese.
"Thanks." Lis took and set the plater on her side table. She and Dracula set their hands on her stomach as the baby kicked, hard. "Ya' know what, I'm craving mango juice and pumpkin pie with lots of whipped cream."
"You shouldn't give into your cravings."
Mavis asked, "When is your next ultrasound?"
"Two weeks if the baby isn't born first." Lis offered Mavis some scream cheese. "Any chance you'll get me some mango juice?"
"Don't give into your cravings." Count Dracula took Elisabeth's hand.
"Oh no." Lis tried to stand on her own but couldn't. "I lived on a diet of spiders, mice, and flying bugs, which, by the way, are disgusting, with the twins. I'm living on my own pregnancy plan this time. That means I get my mango juice and pumpkin pie and any other cravings I have. Mavis, sweetie, will you help me up?"
Mavis helped Lis up as Dracula asked, "How long have you had this attitude?"
"Thank you, Mavis." Lis put her hand on her lower back to brace herself up. "I would ask Quasimodo to make stuff for me until I could no longer stand on my own, after that I had Mavis ask him for me. For the last nine months I've eaten whatever I've craved, which was nearly anything from raw T-bone steak to seven scoops of vanilla ice cream drizzled with blood beaters and chocolate. Will you help me down the stairs, Mavis? I need some exercise." I laughed lightly.
Mavis helped Lis walk down to the kitchen. When she sat you could hardly tell that Lis was ever pregnant but when she stood up in the cloak she wore for warmth you could really tell.
Just as they reached the bottom of the stairs a flood of werewolf pups poured in the front door. They were followed by Denis, and Wanda and Wayne Wolf.
Mavis tried to calmly stop the wolf pups from tearing up the lobby and failed so Lis yelled at full mom volume, "SIT!"
The wolf pups froze where they were and sat. Denis ran up to Lis. "Grandma Lis! How are you?"
Lis giggled. Wish the twins behaved like that. "I'm good. You're getting big. How old are you now?"
"I'm only twenty eight."
Lis laughed as Wanda, her hand on her lower back as well, walked over to her and said, "How are you doing, Sweetie?"
"Well, I'm about nine months pregnant for the second time and can't even stand up on my own. At least it's not twins again. How do you deal with having this many children? Two are a head ache for me. We're on the way to kitchen for mango juice and pie."
"Lots of yelling. That pie sounds pretty good."
The three of them made their way to kitchen where Quasimodo made mango juice. Lis took the glass and took a drink of the mango juice. Suddenly she dropped the glass and it shattered on the floor as she screamed in pain. "The baby is coming!"
