An Air Transylvania Plane landed on the runway behind Elisabeth and Mavis who were getting into a rental car. Lis started the car. "I feel the jet lag catching up with me already."

"Jet lag?" asked Mavis.

"Jet lag is extreme tiredness after a long flight across several time zones. It doesn't usually get me like this. So do you still have that vampire essence I gave you?"

"I've used it all up."

"That's fine. You can refill it when you're so happy you cry. It's cool that we finally get some time to bond."

Mavis marveled at the mountains outside the window for a few minutes before they had arrived at the hotel.

When they had parked Lis took out her cell phone. "Let me just quickly call home..."

"But it's nine am there. They'll all be asleep by now."

"Right. I'm sorry, Mavis. I'm just not used to being away from my family."

"Its fine... and Dad was so all over it!"

"I know. He sort of brought it up before too."

They took their things out of the trunk and went into the hotel. They got checked into room 234. A beautiful room with 2 queen sized beds and a view of the pool.

"Holy Rabies!" Mavis rushed to the window that allowed the view of the pool. "Can we go swimming?"

"Sure. Will you help me with tying me swimsuit?"

"As soon as I have mine on." Mavis took her black one peace swimsuit out of her bag and dashed to the bathroom to change.

Since the bathroom was now taken Lis decided to change in the middle of the room. She changed into her bottoms before taking off her shirt. Just as she took off her bra, Lis heard Mavis gasp behind her. Elisabeth covered her breast with her arms as she turned around. "What's wrong?"

"Is that a tattoo?" Mavis pointed at her shoulder.

"Oh... um... yeah... the top is on my bed."

Mavis picked up the black top and quickly helped Lis put it on. "So the multiple tattoos... I assume dad knows you have them."

Elisabeth rolled her eyes as she led the way to the pool, the long black skirt connected to the bottoms bellowed out behind her. "Of course he does... in fact I made him get one himself."

Mavis started. "You got him to do something that human!"

"Calm down, Mavis." Lis set her hand on Mavis's shoulder. "It's nothing extravagant. It's exactly like this one." Lis pointed at the one that sat just beside her neck tie string. It was like a broken circle with a small design of lines inside. It was almost nothing more than a black spot on her collar bone. "It's a wedding rune. The one on my shoulder blade is a love rune... the one on my ankle is insight/foresight. Most people don't think they work but a rune can be a witches bread and butter. They can allow for special links between the two with identical runes like mine and your dad's wedding runes. They allow us to know if one of us is in mortal danger or is injured."

"Interesting..."Mavis didn't say anything more as they reached the pool.

They both jumped into the deep end and took a few laps around the pool. After about 5 laps they got out of the pool and made their way back to the bedroom. Humans were starting to come out of their rooms to go breakfast and Elisabeth really didn't wish to be seen in the pool at such an odd hour to a human.

Lis changed in the bathroom this time. They changed into their pjs and went to bed.

It was about noon in Santa Cruz when Elisabeth was awoken by her cell phone ringing. Groggily, she looked at the picture I.D. It was Dracula. She pushed the answer button.

"Hey, hon-" Lis broke off with a yawn.

"Did I wake you?" Dracula got up close to the phone.

"Yes but it's alright." She put her glasses on as her lose night shirt slipped to reveal the tattoo her collar bone. "It's about noon here. What time is it there?"

Dracula looked away from his phone. He looked back a second later. "It's 8:30 pm."

"So the kids are up? How are you doing with them?"

"They are a bigger challenge than I expected... I don't know how you manage to do all of this... but Denisovich is very helpful with them. It seems he's learned a lot from you and Mavis about kids."

"He'll make a great father someday." Lis sat up and yawned again. "I guess I'll get myself a snack real quick." Elisabeth stood up her night shirt falling down to the area between her upper thigh and knees. It was still slipping off her shoulder.

The kids ran up and tackled Dracula, knocking the phone from his hand. The three children put their heads together over the phone. "Hi mommy!" they yelled in unison.

"Hey kids!" Lis smiled at her kids.

"Mommy will you be back for my birthday?" asked Martha.

"Of course I will sweetie. I'll never miss any of your birthdays, ever."

"Mommy," said Jack. "What's that on your chest?"

Lis looked at her uncovered shoulder and noticed her tattoo was uncovered. "Oh...Um...I'll tell you when I get home so you can see it closer." She adjusted her shirt so that it covered her collar bone. "Put Daddy back on please."

"Okay." Lizzy picked up the phone off the floor, covering the front camera with her hand. "Bye mommy! Love you!"

"Love you guys too!" when the picture returned it was Dracula again. Lis giggled. "Your camera is smudged."

"Oh well... so I'm going to take them to my old vampire summer camp."

Lis heard the door close and all three kids yelling as they were tackled by the wolf pups. "You better leave Martha with Johnny then. I don't want you to give her false hope of getting fangs."

"Alright. Good bye, Honey Bat. Love you!" Dracula made a kissy face at the phone and hung up.

"Okay then... bye..." Elisabeth frowned as she set down the phone. Oh well. Then she went to take a shower.
