Chapter 17: Rejection

Dracula put his hand on Lis's shoulder. "Hi guys! I just need to borrow Lis for one minute."

"Just one?" Lis asked sarcastically.

Dracula zipped Lis away quickly and they talk privately. "Okay, I spoke to my Dad."

"I have a grandpa? That's weird."

Dracula continued, "And we have a plan."

"Awesome! What do we have to do?"

"A sacrifice."

Lis's jaw dropped. "A hah-ri-fi...?"

Dracula nodded. "Yes. And by tomorrow night, she'll be a full vampire."

"Dad, we can't conduct a sacrifice!"

"Do you want to move to England and live with strangers?"

"No," mumbled Martha.

"Exactly. Okay, my dad'll set it all up. We need to sacrifice something that Martha cherishes the most."

"Oh boy." Lis swallowed. "Pretty sure that's family but Mom reserved Wonder woman to perform a few lasso tricks, that might work. I won't tell mom what you're doing but you're on your own." Lis went to walk back to her seat thinking that would never work because it's not what she cherished.

Dracula grabbed her shoulder. "Oh, and, one more thing. My Dad can't know your mom is not full vampire. Or any of you. Especially not that she's a Katty."

"What? But Dad, I-"

"Or he won't be real happy. He is more against half breeds than humans! If he knows Martha could be a witch he won't help."

"Dad! How does he not know? Didn't he go to your wedding? Has he never met mom? She loves to talk about her family!"

Dracula rubbed the back of his neck. "That again! No. He wasn't there."

Lis shook her head. "I'll do what I can. Just leave me out of all this."

Sorry about the short chapters. I've been working hard to figure out to do the p.o.v. switches and time skips at the same time. only came up with chapter changes. they are giving you some pretty good info and building up for a longer chapter towards the end. Thanks for sticking with me. The journey is almost over.
