Amber took a deep breathe as nervousness took over her body, but she tried to shake it off as she pushed open the front doors of the school and walked in, clutching her bag to her side a bit too nervously as she stopped for a second when everyone turned to look at her.

She bit her lip, expecting the worse to happen, like always, every day, but to her surprise, every one just looked away and returned to their own business.

'Well that was unusual,' Amber thought as she started walking towards her locker with an uncertain look on her face. 'Where the heck are Zara and Grace?' She exclaimed loudly in her mind as she shoved her bag in to the locker because there were no classes on first period for her.

The bell rang, making every one's chattering louder as they talked a bit more before walking off to their own classes, while Amber was trying to find her two best friends in the crowd.

While eyeing the crowd, her eyes met those same sea green ones, the ones that were a little too familiar in her mind.

Her eyes widened as she quickly turned around, standing there facing her own locker like an idiot with her arms crossed. 'Oh what a brilliant move Amber,' she thought to herself, 'He totally won't be able to recognize you by just looking at your back!'

Her thoughts broke away when she felt a soft pat on her shoulder, causing her to turn around unsurely.

It was Louis. What?

"Hello, Amber." Louis said cheerily, as he stood in front of her, making Amber lean back against her locker as she widened her eyes.

Louis chuckled, as Amber stood there blinking a few times, staring dumbly at him, "H-hi Louis.."

Amber took her gaze and stared over Louis's shoulder where she could see a bunch of Louis' friends at a distance from where they stood. They where all leaned up, looking over at them and talking and whispering but none of them were laughing, or even sending cold looks.

Amber scrunched her eye brows in confusion as she put her attention back on Louis, who to her surprise, said something she thought she'd never hear.

"I really like how you put your hair today."

She could feel her cheeks heat up, as she looked down at glanced at herself.

All she was wearing was plain black jeans, a loose violet t-shirt with a white scarf around her neck and some ankle length boots. Her hair was just put to the side where it had fallen onto waves, that's all.

She looked up strangely at Louis, he was complimenting this? But this was surreal.

"Thank you, Louis." Amber said as she couldn't help but let a smile take over her face as Louis laughed.

"Okay, I really have to get to class. See ya!" He said before running back to his friends and joining them, leaving Amber standing there leaned against her locker with her heart beating fast.

'What just happened?'

--------------------------

Humming the words of the song Amber forgot the name of, she roamed around the empty hallways like a child at heart.

She had a book in her hand, the same mystery thriller she had taken from the library the day before, and she loved reading it even though there were more 11 chapters to go.

Trying to find the perfect reading spot lead her to the school grounds, and she felt a cold breeze brush her hair from her face as she looked around.

It wasn't that crowded, but there were still a few people on some of the corners, they probably have a free period just like Amber did.

'Still no sight of Graze or Zara though', she thought, 'Meh they're probably in class.'
