Mousepaw was laying in the apprentices' den, retreating in the it from the rain as it fell. The soft sound of the rain hitting the ferns and the top of the leaves on the trees were so soothing that she could fall asleep right now, but she decided to stay awake in case Brackenstripe called for her. She glanced around the camp, the log where the elders sleep was covered in water soaked moss and bark. A white tom and a light gray she were laying in the den sleeping, the white tom was Halfear and the light gray she was Skypelt. His name is what it is because he lost his other ear to a dog in a fight when he was a warrior, and when Rushingstar was just made leader. Skypelt retired a few moons after Halfear changed his name and joined the elders. She was a nice and always cared for other. Mousepaw turned over to the warriors' den, she watched as a few warriors came in and out of the den. Dewflower, Brackenstripe, Goldenstep, Feathermist, Rowanflame, Stormwhisker, and Lilysplash were sitting by the warriors' den, talking. Lilysplash was play fighting with Branchpaw, Stormwhisker watched them. Dewflower, Goldenstep, and Rowanflame were talking in one group while Brackenstripe and Feathermist talked in another group. Mousepaw looked towards the warriors' den, inside was Rainpelt, Nettleclaw, Snowflower, Gingersplash, and Mistheart were inside the den, Rainpelt and Snowflower were asleep while Gingersplash and Mistheart were talking, Nettleclaw was sitting his nest watching outside the rain fall.

Mousepaw watched as Branchpaw leaped at Lilysplash, the she ducked and the apprentice landed behind her. Then the pale ginger she turned and lightly batted Branchpaw. Branchpaw leaped on her back and and started nibbling on her ear. They're acting like kits! Mousepaw though, Lilysplash rolled on her back, almost squishing Branchpaw. She got up and turned towards him, "I'm sorry!" Mousepaw heard her say, she picked up the apprentice by the scruff and set him to his paws. Mousepaw got to her paws and padded towards the two, Branchpaw was the first to notice. "Hello Mousepaw!" he said, Lilysplash looked to whom Branchpaw was talking to, "It's good you finally came out of the den" she meowed. Mousepaw looked at the warrior, "I thought it was time to get my fur wet today" Branchpaw's ear twitched, "Are you saying that because you couldn't sleep?" he asked in a sarcastic tone. "No," Mousepaw answered, turning to Branchpaw. The brown tabby tom rolled his eyes, Mousepaw padded over to sit next to Stormwhisker. "Have you noticed that they act like kits when they play?" she meowed to him. "That's just how you act as well" he added, still looking at the two cats. Mousepaw looked to who Stormwhisker was looking at, his yellow eyes focused on her pale ginger pelt, her amber eyes, his eyes were gazing at Lilysplash. "You love her don't you?" Mousepaw said as she looked back at the warrior. "No," he said as he looked away from the she "i'm just worried about the prophecy, I must have been daydreaming and she was in my line of sight." Mousepaw saw the desperateness in his eyes. Your lying. She thought, she let out a huff and turned towards the entrance of the camp and padded out.

Mousepaw was standing at the Shallow Ridge, gazing at the other side of the river. She let out a sigh, she shuffled her paws. Out of the corner of her eye she saw a spark of a bright light. Fire! She thought, It looks like it's near the Hollow Tree. Am I the only one that knows about this? Mousepaw's paws were shaking, I can't just do nothing! What if the fire spreads to the forest! Dawnpaw and Silverpaw would be in trouble! Mousepaw slowly looked at the forest, For the good of the Clans! She thought. She raced through the undergrowth and into LeafClan territory, bush leaves and twigs hit her face as she raced towards the Hollow Tree. When Mousepaw got there she saw that there was a small spark near the roots of the huge tree. She quickly looked around, trying to figure out a way to stop the fire. I know! I'll put it out with some wet moss! She thought and raced back into the forest.

Mousepaw started scraping off some dry moss from the side of a tree, she balled it up and looked around. A few tail lengths in front of her she saw a small puddle, she raced over and dipped the dry moss into it. The moss soaked up the water and became heavy, the apprentice picked it up and raced back to Hollow Tree. The spark was turned into a flare by the time Mousepaw got to it, she severed her head and threw the soaked moss onto the fire. The flare was just right for the water soaked moss to put out, it landed directly on it, smoldering the fire. Mousepaw let out a sigh of relief, knowing that the fire was put out, she padded towards the roots, making sure that the fire was out for sure. She gently pawed the burnt piece of bark, no spark appeared. She took a pawstep backwards, Thank StarClan, she thought. She swerved her ears behind her to the sound of something hitting the grass, "Why are you on our territory?" said a growling voice. The dark apprentice turned around to see a small calico in a fighting stance, her fur bristling, her muscles bunched looking like she was going to leap, her mouth opened to show fangs, the she looked to be a apprentice. Mousepaw got to her paws, Can't the cat see I was trying to help? She thought, suddenly the LeafClan scent flooded into her nose, Of course... she thinks that I am hunting on her territory. But wouldn't she have smelled the fire from her camp? The RippleClan apprentice thought. Mousepaw looked at the LeafClan cat's paws, sitting right in front of them was moss covered on water. That also explains why she is here...

"I'm sorry, I didn't know that this was your territory" she quickly said. "You should have knew sense LeafClan's territory covers past the Hollow Tree that RippleClan clams to be theirs" said the she. "What do you mean clams to be...?" Mousepaw said, a growl hidden in her throat. "One of our warriors said that long ago the Hollow Tree used to be RippleClan's, but ever sense a battle with LeafClan it now belongs to us" the calico meowed, still in a fighting stance. Mousepaw's eyes widen in shock, Lair! Then if that is true then the Hollow Tree belongs to RippleClan, Mousepaw thought, "Then the Hollow Tree should have belong to RippleClan!" she growled. The calico let out a hiss, "The Hollow Tree never belonged to RippleClan!". Mousepaw dropped into a crouching stance, "Then the Hollow Tree should have never belonged to LeafClan!" she hissed. Mousepaw opened her mouth to show her fangs, the LeafClan apprentice snorted, "So be it" then leaped at the RippleClan apprentice.
