It crushed me. The sex meant nothing? How could she even remotely say that? I know Emily- she's the first to spill her feelings. Why is she fighting this?
Why?
That day she walked out, I felt my whole world turn black and white- shallow with pain and cut with pure sorrow. If the first time was painful, anything after that was salt in my wounds. We stopped talking.
Unfriended.
She said it. We aren't friends any more. Was that because I wanted more- or she wanted something she felt she couldn't have. Granted. I'm finely aged wine and she's just a glass of tequilla, but even she knows this is a mistake. Her tour has put her at the front- all her songs end the same almost.
Pain.
Has she been hurt by too many men to even trust me? Me of all people. I am a lover- not a fighter. She knows. I know she does. And that may be the reason why she denies me. Does she only like assholes? But I've tried that card before and she called me out. It's unfair. She means this no friend thing- cause it's aleady been three months since we last seen each other.
Dectur.
Shit. Maybe I should pay her a little surprise visit in Dectur this weekend at her concert. Yeah, that'll be a little kick in her pants.
**Dectur Georgia**
Pulling her hair back, Emily feels terrible. This tour has been killing her slowly but surely. Sure, every concert was sold out, but Emily is to the point of running herself ragged. How can she suppress these depressive emotions?
"Emily, we're almost ready for you." Simon pokes his head in and she smiles as she finishes up her makeup.
Why am I doing this?
Staring into the mirror, she remembers the young girl who used to dream of spot lights, fans, a mic in her hand- all for the fame. Now, all she dreams of is curling up into the side of a good man who loves her for her add doesn't care that she goes to sleep clutching her sock monkey or Hello Kitty Daryl Dixon Norman got her as a joke. She just wants to be his friend again. She over reacted to his plea, but if it meant keeping her safe from any more pain, then she has to learn to push the pain, the depression, and the disgust deep down inside her. Isn't that what she was taught in acting school?
Push all yer emotions deep down inside you. They will go away and you can be who ever you want.
Deep inside her, is almost full- mostly with terrible feelings that are driving her insane.
Grabbing her guitar, Emily goes out on stage and everyone is yelling and going crazy.
Okay. Push the bullshit deep down inside yourself, Em. We can do this last job.
"Wow, this place is packed. How is everyone today?" Emily asks and the crowd goes crazy. Deep in yhe corner by the bar, nursing a bourban, Norman watches Emily silently- a smile growing on his face at how beautiful she is and how happy she always is- apparently when she isn't around him. "So I got a few new songs for you. They seem to be kind of like the bridge between Expired Lover and This is War."
She goes on to sing several songs. Norman sits in the back, now on his third drink, and is feeling slightly tipsy, but he composes himself. As he's about to regret coming here, he hears Emily last song opener.
"Okay, so this next song is about a boy that I love." If the crowd wasn't going crazy before, they were now. "Well, I do love Norman Reedus, but it's not about him."
Well that fucking hurts.... At the same time she said she loves me though, unless that's just for fans to fawn over.
She begins to sing her last song and someone finally notices Norman in the back with his drink. They go up to him in a fangirl outburst and Norman just hopes that no one else draws attention to him.
