Laying in her bed for an afternoon nap, Emily begins to wonder why Norman was in such a big hurry to leave. Normally, he would hang around her apartment until she said something. Today, he just left with a huff in his voice and a trudge in his step. Was he really upset that she was making him quit smoking? He had to know she wasn't going to stand for it. A deep ache in her stomach calls to her and she stands up, going to the kitchen for a late lunch. She napped all day after Norman left- being pregnant really messes with yer sleep, aparantely yer sexual cravings too.
Was Helena like that? Sexually craving him? That won't happen to me.
Pulling out two eggs from the carton, she places a skillet on the stove top and puts a bit of oil in it as she turns on the burner and cracks her eggs.
I'm okay. I don't need coffee. I won't have cravings, and I will eat healthy. It won't be that hard to do- I'm a vegetarian.
**Two Days Later**
Sitting at his office desk, Norman compiles paperwork and other things he needs to send to his agent for the new release of his photography book. He is a little messed up with his view on what makea art- but then again, he just wants people to laugh instead of being serious all the time - especially art critics. Why should he photograph a boring abandoned barn or some flowers? Why can't he photograph a hot woman running on the beach with a creepy mask on?
**Buzzz Buzzzz**
Picking up his phone it's Emily so he picks it up, ready to hear her sweet voice...instead he just hears crying.
"Em! What is it?" He stands up ready to throw his shoes on and his shoes. A knock comes from his front door and he goes to it while trying to get Emily to calm down and actually speak to him.
Opening the door, Emily is on her phone crying and when they meet eyes, she crashes her body into him and he just hangs up, drops his phone and holds her close, closing the door behind them.
"Emmy, what's wrong? Are you okay? Is...is it the baby?" Taking her to the couch, he sits down with her in his lap and just consoles her. "Shhhhhh, I got ya babe. I got ya."
"I....I..."She can't get passed that point and all Norman do, is wait until she calms down. He patiently waits and it takes her almost twenty minutes before the crying stops and she's not hyperventilating. Norman is so worried about what's wrong that he never looks away from her. "I ate a burger today....and chicken tenders..."
Really! She's crying about eating?
"Is that all?" He tries to say it without coming across as an asshole, but it's kind of hard when he thought she was hurt.
"Is that all? I'm a vegetarian Norman! I haven't had meat since 2003! It was so grosse but these damn cravings are driving me insane. How can you be so insensitive." Now it hits him- pregnant, mood swings, over emotional- this was the start of all his problems.
"Em, are you maybe feeling... A little emotional today?"
"Ye...yeah...no...oh no. This isn't cause I'm pregnant is it? Dammit!" She cries harder and throws her face into his lap now that she's sitting beside him. She heard rumors that these things happen to women- never did she really believe it was true to this extent of crying over food.
"It's okay...hey, I got you something. It's gonna make you feel better." He happily leaves her on the couch and runs into his kitchen and brings her out a gift bag.
"Wha...what is it?" She sits up and rubs her teary eyes. Handing her the bag, he smiles widely as she opens it. "Coffee flavored candy- French Vanilla, Cappechinno, and Pumpkin Smice..."
She smiles up at him and then starts crying again- this time from joy, and maybe cause she's baby insane.
"Thank you.... It's so...sweet." Going over to her, he sits on the coffee table and takes her free hand that isn't wiping her eyes.
"Yer welcome, but you really need to stop crying Emmy." He kisses her hand and she gazes at him with lustful eyes that are drying her tears. Pouncing forward, she leans him down on the table and straddles him as she kisses and grinds against him.
God it's like a goldfish- five second memory. She's worse than Helena was...how am I gonna survive.
She stops abruptly and looks down at him confused and hurt.
"What's wrong? It's me isn't it."
"N...no. Em..."
"Yer not even hard. Yer not attracted to me any more? You think I'm fat? I'm fat aren't I?" she begins to cry again and Norman feels she really got hit with the crazy stick.
"Honey yer not fat. Yer beautiful. I am so attracted to you..." She gets off of him and continues to cry.
"Tell that to him!" She points to his dick and Norman sighs. Going to her, she pulls away from him, but he tries to console her. "Get away from me...don't touch me! Don't touch...."
She accidently elbows him in the face and he falls to the couch clutching his nose as blood drips from it. Turning around she notices this and covers her mouth- finally breaking the craziness inside her.
"I'm so sorry...Norman. I didn't mean too." Getting up, he stomps to his bedroom and slams the door behind him- the pictures on the walls shake and Emily sinks into the couch.
What is wrong with me? I didn't mean to hurt Norman. I'd never do that- not on purpose.
Going to the door, she knocks on it and slowly opens it. Heading to his bathroom, Beth stands behind him as he angrily cleans his face and tries to stop the bleeding. She feels terrible for hurting him. Gently, she moves forward behind him and holds him like she had in Season Four, Episode Still. Pressing her face to his back she tries so hard not to get emotional, but tears escape her eyes anyway.
"I'm so sorry..." She whispers and closes her eyes tightly. Turning off the water, Norman places his hands on hers and then turns slowly, hugging her back.
"I know...I shouldn't have got mad." He kisses the top of her head and rubs her back gently. "I know you can't handle yer emotions right now. It'll get easier. It's always hard in the beginning."
"I just don't know what's wrong with me."
"Haha, yer pregnant."
Shit, that sounded bad.
"And I didn't mean it like being pregnant is wrong, I just meant..." Leaning up, she kisses his lips.
"I know what you meant." They look in each other's eyes and Norman just smiles. Before brushing her hair out of her face.
"You truly are so beautiful. I can't wait to figure out what we're having....I hope it's a beautiful girl- like you." Tears spring up in her eyes and he just kisses her again.
Going to his bedroom, he lays down, from a slight headache, and looks at her as she stands there like a statue staring at him.
"Come're." Crawling into bed, she lays into his side and he just hilds her close. Kissing her temple twice, his hand slowly rubs up and down her tiny belly. They end up falling alseep with ease, leaving behind the craziness of the day.
