Waking up in Norman's bed, Emily yawns, rubs her eyes, and stretches before noticing that Norman is gone. She sits up in a stooped position on the bed and looks around helplessly. She absolutely hates waking up in someone else's bed alone. It makes her feel lousey and cheap- evem though they hadn't had sex this morning. Looking down at her small stomach, she just smiles at the rememberance of Norman's words.
'I hope it's a girl- so she's as beautiful as you.'
It has also crossed her mind what their child might look like. Will he or she be blonde like her or a light brown like Norman used to be? With they have Norman's eyes and Emily's smile? So many questions over throw all other thoughts that are more important- such as, who gets more custody over the child? Where are they going to go to school? Are they going to be shipped between Emily and Norman every other weekend like Mingus? Or will she and Norman try to make a relationship work.
She'd be lying is she said she hasn't thought about what a relationship with Norman would be like. He's such a good guy, but obviously something didn't stick with him and Helena. Why? Was it him? Or her?
"Hey...yer up." Norman stands in the bright doorway and Emily tries to erase her thoughts as though Norman could read her mind.
"Yeah...you could've woke me up." She shyly says and Norman slowly closes the gape between him and the bed.
"You needed to sleep. Besides, it was a good nap. I thoroughly enjoyed it." He sits on the edge of the bed and pushes some hair away from her face.
"Oh..." She begins to blush amd turns her face away to hide it from him.
"Oh no you don't. Yer not hiding from me girl." Laying her down, Norman hovers over top of her and holds her arms against the bed. "Why you being shy all of a sudden? Hmm?"
"I'm not..."
"Yeah you are." He wickedly grins and leans down kissing her tenderly on her lips which causes her to blush even more. "You are just so shy and bashful today Miss Kinney. What am I going to do with you?"
Sitting up, he lets her arms go and raises her shirt just enough to expose her baby bump. She covers her face with her arms and Norman moves to the side of her on the bed and leans down, kissing her stomach all over. He cups the side of her belly in his hand and lays his face against her gently, and listens closely.
Emily, who's never experienced anything like this, lays still on the bed and keeps her face covered. He kisses her stomach a few more times and then keeps his lips against it.
"I love you, Baby Bee." He kisses the bump again and Emily looks up at him and watches his actions. "I will do anything for you. I'm yer Dad. I'll always be right here for you."
Sitting up after one last kiss, Norman looks down at Emily- who's eyes are wide and soppy- and kisses her lips one last time.
"I'll do anything for you and our baby. Anything." He wipes her eyes and kisses her forehead- the sense of security flows through her and it's all because of that kiss. It's the kiss that ensures security and loyalty. Only her father ever kissed her like that- now Norman. In fact, he's kissed her there many times before- but only now does it rensure her that she will be okay. "Are you hungry? Come on- you need to eat."
Getting off the bed, he tugs her into the upright position and lets go when her legs are over the edge of the bed.
"Norman..." She quietly squeaks as he heads to the door. Stopping, he turns and faces the girl who's darkened by his shadow that's casted across the dimly lit room.
"Yeah?"
She wants to tell him that she thinks she loves him, but the words can't form.
"...Can we not have meat for dinner?"
