I kissed Reece as he was about to leave. His stubble brushed against my chin as his lips softly touched mine. "I'll be back in two weeks" he said softly. He cupped my face in his hand, "I love you Amber" he said as kissing me again. "I love you too".
I know it's not hard to say goodbye to your lover and best friend, but it's not easy either. I could feel my tear ducts start to swell. I didn't want to feel the warmth of tears running down my face. It's been a three years since Reece won X-Factor, and I should be use to him leaving on business; but to tell you the truth, I'm not.
I walked out of the airport and into the car park. I sat in my car and breathed in the smell Reece left. It wasn't hard for him to leave his scent, or at least, it wasn't hard for me to find it. I put my key in the ignition and started it up. I drove home with dull music. I miss him so much already. The night sky and rain on the window made it hard for me to feel happy. Depressing weather has an effect on me.
I get home and I slid my back down the door as I shut it. "It's only two weeks, fourteen days." I said to myself. I rested my head against the door as the house phone started to ring. I sighed and lifted myself off the ground. I made my way to the kitchen bench where I saw an empty coffee mug sitting. "God dammit Reece." I said, shaking my head.
I picked up the phone. "Hello?" I questioned. "Yeah, Hello, is this Amber" said a nervous voice. I knew it was a fan, and they'd gotten the number. We really have to disconnect the line. "No, sorry. I think you have the wrong number" I said while grabbing an apple from the fruit basket. "Oh.. Okay..." She said trailing off. "Is there anything else I can help you with?" I said before taking a bite of the Apple. "Um no thanks, bye" she said, and then hung up the phone. We have changed the number so many times after it got leaked. The phone rang again. I swallowed my mouth full. "Hello?" I asked again. "Hey, this is Nelly. I know this is Reece Mastins house. " she said sharply. I took another bite of the apple. "Sorry, no one by Teece Martin lives here. I think you have the wrong number" I said, reaching for a pen and paper. "No I said REECE MASTIN" she yelled at me. I drew some flowers on the paper "yeah, I said no one by that name lives here." I sighed. I heard a voice in the background mumble something like "leave her alone" and something about "she'll get a restraining order". I breathed in deeply. "Okay, see ya girls. I'll tell Reece that you called. Bye, now!" I didn't even bother to press the hang up button, I just disconnected it from the wall. No one should bother me now. I finished off my apple whole flicking through the TV Guide for the week. So much crap, so little entertainment. I threw the core in the trash and made my way up stairs sleepily. My fingers followed the walls and I made the way to our bedroom. I stopped in the door way, and then dragged myself to my bed. The smell of Reece was on his pillow. So many memories have been made in this bedroom. Deep, passionate love making. Tears or anger and kisses from making up. I can't wait for him to get home so I can wrap myself around him and we can do it all over again. The pictures hanging above the bed had fallen loose from their hooks, and the wardrobe was still open from Reece finding a fresh pair of jocks this morning. I closed my eyes and hugged his pillow. The smell lingered in my nose until I fell asleep.

The sound of the alarm echoed into my sleepy brain as my hand hit snooze. I stretched into a roll and found my phone. There was a Facebook message from Reece, since he can't text me from over seas. I smiled into my pillow.
"How you feeling babe?" He sent me. I unlocked my phone and replied "I'm alright, just about to get up and go to work. Love and miss you xox". I locked my phone and relaxed back into my bed. Only thirteen more days. I put my uniform on, and made my way down stairs for a coffee. The fridge was full of photos of Reece and I. We'd moved to Sydney 2 years ago for his music career. It's the best decision we've ever made. I picked up a job as a receptionist at the local radio station. I guess, it doesn't pay a tone, but it pays the bills.
I arrived at work with my coffee mug in one hand and a smile on my face. My best friend Christa rushed through the door. "You've got a visitor, and I'd brace myself if I were you" she said holding my shoulder "good luck". I was quiet confused as to how she spoken. She's normally a very calm and collected person. "Who is it?" I asked. She looked at me whilst walking up the stairs into the office. "Um.. If I tell you, you won't go in.." She said, speaking softly. I stopped on the last step, a meter from the door. "Well, here goes nothing" I said.
I opened the door, and in the waiting room was someone who I didn't expect to see, at all. My heart dropped and my body went cold. My hands were shaking and I felt like throwing up. I don't know how, or why, but there he was. I dropped my bag to the ground "Dad?" I whispered.
