they say 'sorry' doesn't fix things
that it won't erase the things you did
that it is useless
that it doesn't remove the hurt
that is true when you just say it
without absolutely meaning it
without being sorry
but if you genuinely regret
what you've said or done
and you try to make amends
to redeem yourself
and make it up to the other person
that is when sorry can fix things
