Me and Abraxas' landed gracefully onto the tiled floor and I slipped off his scaly back pulling my mother down with me. We'd flown for no longer than half an hour and had reached the main city on Jotunheim. The land Saxon and Salamander had 'toured' me over had been beautiful. Like no other land I had seen before and had imprinted its place into my mind permanently.
My dress flew out around me in the small breeze so I pulled the cape my mother had given me tighter around my body letting the light fur tickle my wind swept cheeks.
The town was buzzing, and at our arrival a large circle had formed around the dragons. I watched the people's faces who stared at my mother, me and Salamander light up in awe. In some cases I noticed a flicker of fear pass whereas in others I only saw excitement.
I hadn't noticed that all of the dragons around me had flew off leaving their riders behind. I was too busy watching the air sprites and admiring the town. Tall beautiful houses and shops lined the streets, overflowing with banners and bright streamers of colour. I'm sure my eyes were twinkling with excitement and I turned back to my mother with a large grin on my face, probably the first true smile I had made since moving here. I skipped off elbowing my way through the crowd. Salamander and the other men had insisted on coming with me, but that didn't mean I would be following them around! Oh no...
I heard a deep horn being blown, and recognised it as the one Salamanders warrior air sprites had used when they had first landed in my original home. It was a welcoming call. I smiled and watched as the crowd around me began to minimise and disperse. I could now visibly see Saxon, Salamander and the other men who had come following not far from me. Even though they were incredibly overbearing it felt good to have company and someone protecting me.
I linked my arm through my mothers and whispered, "This is so exciting."
She turned to me her twinkling eyes mirroring my very own fiery eyes, "see.. this doesn't seem to bad all of a sudden."
I ignored her comment, pulling her instead into a jewellery shop. The bell tingled as we entered and the woman at the counter looked up immediately. I watched as her eyes went from excitement to fear as Salamander walked in and I frowned in confusion.
Deciding to ease her tension, I walked over to her small figure and grinned down at what she had been doing before we entered. Coils of silver, gold and bronze were spread across the counters work top along with an array of gemstones and crystals.
"You make all this?" I asked in amazement, the jewellery was utterly stunning.
"Yes, princess," the woman replied nervously, I watched as she retreated into her petite figure in embarrassment.
"Can you show me?" I asked hesitantly.
"I can teach you a little if you'd like?" The woman said, her lips tugging up slightly at my excitement.
"Really!" I replied jumping in excitement, "my mother too?"
"Of course your majesty," She replied nodding to my mother who had also walked forward to admire the works of art.
I heard a few groans from behind me, and turned to see a couple of Salamanders warriors making faces, clearly not the most pleased at my choice of interest.
Salamander simply nodded to the men and, including Sir Xavier and Sir Delphius who swiftly departed to explore the celebration more.
Saxon and Salamander stayed and walked over to join us.
The woman had brought us some stools and we all sat around the work-top a rather strange sight really. For around half an hour I had successfully been crafting a simple bracelet. The woman, Delena had taught me how to bend the cooling metal into soft curls and beads. I concentrated hard, my general spirit when it comes to learning something new.
