I see you there, watching him.
He's the one they call The Natural - The Can't-Miss Kid.
You're always watching him, wondering, "Why can't I be Him?"
It's been this way since you both began to play the Game.
Everything he does, he makes it look so easy.
He hits the ball farther.
He's taller than you.
He throws the ball farther.
He's stronger than you.
He runs faster.
He pitches better than you.
All the coaches and parents marvel at the talent of this young boy. They still do.
College recruiters and even Major League Baseball scouts regularly come to watch him play. It's already a certainty he'll play at the next level, after high school, he just needs to decide.
Nobody has ever come to watch you play - except your family.
How do you expect to ever play college baseball when you're not him?
It may seem difficult for you to grasp, but I ask you to put your trust in the words I'm going to share - and your faith in Time, as Time always levels-out the playing field; and yesterday's "man-child" players are often over-run by those with a dream – a dream that often moves mountains, and every other obstacle standing in their way of playing college baseball.
If this is you – the one who dares to dream the Big Dream; the one who puts in the work; the one who is always preparing to perform - stay the course. One day, you'll soon accept the fact that you'll never be Him –
you'll be better than him.
