Prologue

A month ago I was sent to this boarding school, by my pathetic excuse of a father. But I understand his reasoning. On my thirteenth birthday weird things started to happen to me. So he shipped me off two years later.

When I arrived the principal looked at me like I had three heads. But I ignored it.

Then today he called me up to the office saying he had to discuss an important matter with me. So that is why I am now sitting outside of the principals office.

Oh! Let me introduce myself. My name is Raven. I dyed my hair red. I have very pale skin. Blue eyes. And soft features. I have a very bad relationship with my stepdad who sent me here. Too bad my mother is always away on buisness trips.

The door to the principals office opens and they motion for me to come inside.

"I am guessing that you are wondering why you are here?" The man himself asks me.

I never really was good with names so I don't really know his.

"I'm sorry I'm not very good with names, um... wh- what is yours?" I ask so quietly I don't think he heard me.

"You may call me Chiron," he tells me.

"You know about the Greek myths about gods and goddesses right?" When I nod he continues.

"Well when a god and human cross, the offspring is called a demigod. And that just about sums up the reason why your here."

I look at him confused. "Do I need to tutor someone?" I ask not really getting his point.

"No dear, what I'm trying to say is that you are a demigod. I smelled it when you first got here. You may be a very strong one too," he tells me.

I just sit there shocked and confused. Was that why my mom never talks about my birth father? Is that why she was always so fascinated by the Greek myths? Is that why weird things are happening to me?

No. No it can't be.

'Yes it can' says a tiny voice in the back of my head.

I look at Chiron and suddenly remember about the story's connected to the name. Hercules was one. Many ancient Greek legends connected to it.

Suddenly a three little words that changed my life escapes from my lips, "I believe you."
