Invoking the past

The night is not just a stage of the day. A motto that was true to its meaning. The night was everything for some and nothing to others. A thin layer of balance was between those who hate and those who love. There were no stars showing their presence that night. The fellow autumn's breeze was replaced with a heavy, cold, and freezing wind. Aaron wouldn't have wish for anything else. There wasn't another place he wished to be. He had been long gone apart from it. Aaron had to escape beautiful Portland. He didn't have a choice. He had to go away. Many incidents had happened during his stanza in Portland. A smile in his lips and his eyes revealed his particular actions. The child could be the devil's. There wasn't a big distance between him and hell. The fire of hell itself burned in that boy's heart.

The car was in maximum speed. Making Aaron's thoughts appear, again, and again. There was so much to do, to fix. They had almost arrive to the downtown. He had to do changes that was his priority. The city had been asleep with peace without him. The beast came to destroy everything in his path. Not everything but all he needed to get out of his way. Aaron was too busy watching the view in the car that he forgot he had company.

"Marcus." Aaron said. Marcus nodded, he was too busy to look him.

"Yeah?"

"What has occurred? Something new?" He said with a bit of laughter.

"Nothing that is worth your time."

"Really, that can't be possible." Aaron said piercing him with his blue eyes. He moved his hand to the volume for the radio. The sound became louder doing a bang to Marcus' ears. "Sorry, I didn't think it would came that loud." The sound began fading but not at all. Aaron moved back to his seat, which was on the side of the conductor's. "I like this song. It reminds me of you. Do you know what is the name of the song?"

"No, I think I don't." Marcus tensed. Having Aaron Valdo in his car wasn't his ideal Friday night. Aaron wasn't a very friendly person. Aaron was the person who didn't take no for an answer. It meant everyone around Aaron paid in some way. He observed people, watched their weaknesses, and took what he needed from them. He was very dominant in what he did. He was competitive in every way, and charming to get what he wanted.

"Well, it doesn't matter." Aaron said looking to his phone. "I remember the name. Would you like to know?"

"Surprise me."

"It's called Do It Again." Aaron said. "It perfectly fits you. It is you. There is no better song that can describe you."

"Why?"

"Just wait and hear." Marcus waited until the first chorus. After the he heard it, he knew what Aaron meant. "How we did it in a one night stand. That is you." The blood was heating up in Marcus' body. He moved his hand away from the wheel and turned off the music. "There is no need to be mad."

"You think." Marcus said. "Mind your own business, Aaron."

"I am trying to be a friend here. I want to know what has happened, and I will find out one way or another." Aaron demanded. "So, it means you haven't changed. Marcus goes everytime for girls, hooks up with them, and leaves." Marcus was silent. "I think some people never change."

"Yeah, some of us don't."

"But I worry for your health. You should take care of STDs. I can't imagine your face when a girl says no."

"Already happened."

"True, I didn't remember." Aaron's blue eyes lightened up. "Rea." Aaron could be a great ally if you did as he said, but if you turned over him the consequences would be different. He would treat you as the enemy. Aaron had many friends and contacts in the city. The reason why Nerea was always being watched was him. He had power in the city. He knew everything. He knew everything about everyone. Secrets were another domain he had. Aaron kept silent if the owners of those secrets did what he said. Another way to control his surroundings. "What is going on in her life?"
