Full Moon
Aldrich walked in the hallway with all the peace and calmness of the world. Apprentices passed at each side of him. Some were walking slowly and others running from one side to another. Aldrich was walking directly to the professor's room. He had some three lessons free to enjoy.
"Mr. Aldrich!" He turned to the scream of behind. "Mr. Aldrich, wait."
"What do you need, Mr. Eurwen?"
"I have the pages you asked."
"I remember that was for yesterday."
"Yes, I'm sorry but please. Can you take it? I have never given you something late."
"Are you sure, Calvin, are you sure?"
"Well, not more than once or twice." he said. "Please."
"Leave it in my class, Calvin." Calvin moved passed him to the laboratory. "Oh and Calvin give it to my assistant." Calvin just nodded to what Mr. Elior had said. Calvin thought the man had gone crazy. Calvin did not remember the school had hired a new assistant or teacher. The class was empty that was what he expected. He gyre the latch with no force. Gentle but still firm. A paper in hand and looking for any sign of a person, but he was wrong.
"Rea?" Calvin asked. Nerea stopped writing on one of the decks.
"No way. I was hoping what you said wasn't true." She stood up from the chair where she had been.
"Now, everything makes sense." Rea made a confusing but concerned look. "I mean, now I understand why Mr. Elior said to give this paper to his assistant."
"Yes, I think you have been enlightened." Nerea said taking the paper away from him and sitting on Aldrich's desk. "Oh, how nice. I will have to read this material too."
"What, giving up already?"
"Cal, both of us know I don't want to be here. It is obvious." she said. "I mean, Aldrich has already given me a list of things I have to do and read."
"He is not that bad." Cal began to say. "He is one of the nicest ones in here."
"Yeah, he seems nice. Does he have any Dark relatives?"
"Why would you ask that?"
"I know is kind of a stupid question but his last name is... familiar to me."
"Do you know any Dark apprentices that has that name?"
"Not Dark at all."
"A half-blood?"
"Forget it." Nerea dropped the subject before it was too late. It was for her better to shut herself than commit a mistake. She would find out eventually who was Aldrich Elior, and she knew he had to have something in common with Blake Elior. It was really rare that apprentices from both sides had the same family names. They had to be connected in some way. Blake and Aldrich had to have a relationship. It was the most logical to think but because of Blake's situation it was hard to know. Being a half-blood was having blood from both sides. Being both Light and Dark at the same time. It was both deadly and unique. For it to happen parents had to be from both sides and that wasn't really common. As always light and dark have been opponents as their carriers. Apprentices. They were complete opposites and really difficult to establish any kind of relationship. That was why many families were tear apart and excluded members. Hate and treason rose in families hearts. Those were the base of their roots.
Nerea thought about Blake. She had known him years and talking about his family was heard. Half-blood were excluded in many traditions. It was hard for them to embrace both natures. To be both instead of one. To not choose in which they belong because their nature is stronger than their will. It was true each apprentice played with both nature in its youth but it was rare. One of the nature was dominant over the other. That was how it worked. Half-blood had to control them and contain them. It was harder than it seem but sometimes they couldn't. They became tortured by both of them and ended having mental breakdowns. When she found out he was a half-blood, she did not believe it. He seem so peaceful and calm. Not all people knew about him or them. It was a very fragile statement. Some accepted it and others did not.
