Cara's funeral
Nerea
I stared at my reflection. I have always loved the color black, it is elegant, and it goes with everything. I couldn't deny I was trying my best to look fine, but the idea just simply disgust me. I would normally stay at my house on Sundays instead I was going to a funeral. Cara's funeral. Tears weren't coming out of my eyes. My eyes were dry. I had already gave all the tears that my body could manage to. Sometimes, I wonder if Cara was the only one that died because honestly I feel more dead than alive. I just don't know what to feel. The world has just lose all of its magic. There aren't colors it is simply gray for me. I constant daydreaming my head creates. I saw how the door opened but I didn't react until Drew's touch made contact with my skin.
"Hey," He said. "Are you ready?"
"Yeah." I said. "I was just making sure the dress was fine."
"It is a pretty dress."
"For dreadful occasion," I sat at my bed just to admire Drew's clothes for a minute. "On the other way, you look handsome, mister." He smiled. "I bet that blonde would go crazy with you."
"Yeah, I can't remember the time a girl threw herself at me at a funeral. How could I not thought about it?" Drew said as he threw himself at my bed.
"Well...everything is possible."
"Hey, doesn't matter what happens I am here for you."
"Like the three of us where. I wonder who's next?"
"Don't think that."
"I just want everything to be over. I just want a way out now."
"Way out?"
"Drew, I don't think it was an accident. We did stuff...Cara did stuff, so did I, so did you, and maybe karma or a ghost is coming back to bite us..."
"Hold that, where did those thoughts came from? I know what we did. What I did but there is nothing to worry about. The past is the past."
"Are you sure? Sometimes history repeats itself."
"Nerea, stop." He said as got up from my bed and offer his hands to help me too. "There is nothing to worry. You are being paranoid." I took his hands, look myself one last time in the mirror, and got out as fast I could.

The priest kept saying words and phrases that got lost in Nerea's mind. Lionel and Drew were next to her. Nerea kept observing everywhere, her eyes went from one spot to another. She saw how Cara's mother was devastated. Tears kept falling from her eyes as she saw the coffin. Two blonde boys, twins, were next to her. They were distracted by everything surrounding them. They didn't know what was happening. Why their mother was crying or why their sister was never going to wake up? Their youth made their minds be in a safe place. Nerea smiled at them, and even though she knew they weren't Cara's biological siblings they resembled her. She could see Cara in them. It was amazing how she wasn't present but she was, and was going to be.
Cara's mother, Ciara, began crying without control. Her husband hugged her towards his chest. She couldn't handle what was happening now. The coffin was settled in the hole and now was being covered by the land of the cemetery. Nerea's heart stopped for a minute. All she desired was to run away from that nightmare. She had noticed until now that she was shaking. Rea looked around her, trying to calm herself, trying not to lose her mind, trying not to lose the only thing she had...Her pride. She would never let herself break down in front of everyone. She wouldn't want Cara to see her that way. Cara did not deserve to see her that way. Nerea wanted to honor her memory; even though she was falling apart every second.
