To say I was messed up was an understatement. My breakup had been horrible and I wanted nothing more than to stay at home in bed with a tub of ice cream. However Jesy had other ideas.. She and Leigh-Anne were on their way over to my flat saying that "operation get Perrie out of the house" was well under way. They wanted to take me out for the night saying that the local club down the road had a singer on tonight. They knew music had some way of cheering me up but whether or not I would like the singer was another question. I soon heard a knock on the door and made my way over.
"Perrie! I told you to get ready!" Jesy shouted at me.
"I'm not going out Jesy, I'm perfectly fine here with my Ben & Jerry's" I replied before taking my place back on my sofa. My white crop top and black skinny jeans were dropped onto my lap and Leigh had a smug look on her face.
"Get dressed Edwards or else I'll pin you down and dress you myself" Leigh laughed.
"I guess I'm not getting out of this one am I?" I asked to which the girls shook their heads "fine, I'll go get ready".
25 minutes later and we were on our way down to the club. Once I had got out of the flat I suddenly felt a little bit better. I needed to get out with my girls and forget the whole relationship ever happened. I linked arms with my two best friends and promised myself that I would have a great night. We got to the club door and I saw the sign that said the name of the artist that was going to be playing that night.
"Small town girl Jade Thirlwall" Jesy read "let's hope she's good. She might be pretty too Pez".
"I hope so" I laughed as we made our way into the club. Leigh dragged us straight over to the bar and ordered a couple of drinks. I heard the squeak of a microphone and looked around to see a girl stood on the stage. She was pretty, Jesy was right.
"Hi everyone, I'm Jade. I'll be your entertainment for tonight and the upcoming weeks. I do take requests so if you're a regular let me know! I hope you enjoy your night and the set I have planned" she said. I loved her voice and I hadn't even heard her sing yet. Her voice was soft and I found my eyes glued to the brunette.
"She's really pretty" Leigh-Anne said next to me "let's hope she can sing".
"This first one I'm going to do for you is Ed Sheeran - One" she said before clearing her throat and starting to sing.
"I bloody love this song" Jesy grinned "she has good taste in music". I was too busy listening to how perfect her voice was and thinking how someone with her beauty and talent was singing in a little club like this. The girls kept giving me drinks whilst I just kept my eyes glued onto the brunette. She was absolutely breath taking and I couldn't move.
"Are you going to come dance with us Pez?" Leigh asked whilst grabbing my hand. I nodded and followed them to the dance floor. This made me get even closer to where Jade was singing.
"I'm gunna kick things a little more upbeat for this final one so I want to see all of you dancing" Jade said and if I wasn't mistaken she looked at me when she said that "so this one is Glitterball". Leigh grabbed my hands and we soon started dancing a long to Jade's singing.
"I'm so in love with youuuuu" Jade sang and I danced away like she was singing to me. The song soon finished and Jade soon took to the mic once again.
"Thank you for having me, I'll be back this time next week!" Jade said before turning her microphone off and starting to pack her stuff up.
"How long is it going to take you to talk to her?" Jesy asked.
"Forever she's way out of my league" I laughed.
"Jesy, can we go to the club again tonight?" I asked. It had been a week since seeing Jade in the nightclub and I knew she performing there again tonight.
"Is this got anything to do with who is performing tonight?" Jesy smirked "but of course I'll call Leigh".
"Great, I'll go get ready" I said before rushing off to my room. I decided on something a little more revealing tonight. It being a netted dress that left nothing for the imagination, I needed to get back out there. I put my hair in a tight ponytail and decided that was me ready after putting on my makeup.
"Woah Pez, look at you! You hot lil thing!" Jesy laughed.
"Well I've not been trying lately so I thought why not" I laughed. Leigh soon arrived and once again like last week we set off down to the club.
"Jake's coming tonight" Jesy smiled "so I'm sorry girls but you might not see a lot of me".
"You don't believe in the whole 'sisters before misters' pack then" Leigh giggled and Jesy hit her arm playfully. We walked into the club and once again the brunette was setting up on the stage. I noticed that there was a table right next to the stage and I tapped Leigh and pointed to it.
"You go get that table, I'll grab us some drinks" Leigh said and I went over to the table. As I walked past Jade we made eye contact and Jade gave me the sweetest smile. My response was an awkward little wave as I went to sit down. Jade began her set and I noticed this time how most of her songs were upbeat and about being in love. How ironic. She took on Real Love by Jess Glynne and I was singing along with Leigh as we lost Jesy as soon as we walked in.
"She's really something isn't she" Leigh said nudging me lightly.
"Definitely, she's stunning" I said not breaking my line of vision from Jade. As I finished my sentence Jade looked over at me and started smiling. I found myself smiling back whilst singing along with her.
"She's flirting" Leigh whispered in my ear and I just shook my head lightly whilst still looking at Jade. Soon enough Jade's set had finished once again and she soon said goodnight. The brunette had soon left the stage and I was left thinking why wasn't I confident enough to talk to her.
"I'm going to go use the bathroom" Leigh said "I'll not be long".
