Chapter Six: Brace

Wally and Dick decided to pay Artemis a visit, they enter her room, quite large, full of equipment, regular equipment you would usually find at a hospital. Chairs, lights, tools, containers with writing all over, buttons scattered all around the room and one giant window with a clear view of the earth. They walk in on her sleeping, the two looked at each other, and smiled, she looked so comfortable and at peace. They quietly sat beside one another, trying not make any noise and wake her.

5 minutes have past, and the two stared blankly at Artemis. Wally finally placed his arm around Dick's shoulders. Dick leaned into it and kissed his hand.

"I hope she's okay." Dick mumbled.

"This is Artemis we're talking about, she can handle anything." Wally replied.

Dick reached out to Wally for a kiss forcing Wally to lean in and insert his tongue into Dick's mouth. Both started making out furiously.

"Uhhhggg.. get a room" Artemis awoke from her unconsciousness only finding both boys eating each others mouths out.

Both boys were startled from what Artemis said. "Artemis! We didn't know..."

"Didn't know I was in the room?" Artemis interrupted. "Look I know you two, have a thing and all, but you don't have to make out everywhere all the time." She added.

Wally looked at Nightwing who was giggling, it was as if Artemis was telling a joke.

"What's so funny?" Artemis grunted.

"Do you really think we will stop? Wally scoffed.

"It's either you can't or you don't want to." Artemis argued, whilst glaring at the two lovers.

"A combination of both." Dick smirked.

"Well anyway, you all should be worried. Klarion tortured me and maybe took something from me maybe a blood sample and I think he's going to use it to enact a curse of some sort. I think Zatanna and I are immune."

"Yeah we know. They took your tears." Dick intoned.

"Wait, how do you know this?" Artemis questioned.

"Zatanna worked her magic mumbo jumbo and showed us what happened to you." Wally jested. "They are planning to enact the curse of shattered sight. It makes its victims hurt or even kill anyone around them, and it seems like everyone is going to get affected. Eventually, everyone is going die."

Artemis's eyes widened. In shock, of course she would be worried for Wally and Dick, even the rest of the team. She considered them family after all. "Wait, so you're all going to get cursed whilst I stay here and watch you all kill each other!?" She growled.

"Batman, The Flash and Doctor Fate will take care of it. There's only one problem, he needs something or someone to restrain us from one another so we don't end up hurting anyone." Dick put in.

"And that's your job, Arti farti." Wally jested once more.

"Call me that again, and you won't need a curse for someone to rip your head off because I'll gladly do it myself." Artemis scolded.

Dick just laughed at the two making faces at each other. They ended up arguing about who is better than who. But that all changed when the sound of thunder interrupted them. The sound came from outside the giant window. Both Dick and Wally move towards it to have a perfect, clear view of the earth. Puzzled, they notice a reddish purple cloud forming and growing in one section of the planet.

"Is that..."

Zatanna walked inside the medical room interrupting them "Yes, that's the curse of shattered sight."
