Thinking

Dan opens his eyes groggily and sits up. He rubs his eyes with the back of his hands and looks around the glass still on the floor from the night before.  He stays in that position just staring at the floor. The dull grey carpet scattered with glass causing small specks of light to stand out.

He stands up motioning his way around the glass and grabbing his jacket trying to be as quiet as possible. He walks out the door down the stairs putting his jacket on, on the way down.

Stopping by the door to grab his shoes he hears creaking coming from down the hallway and turns to see his mother standing there as if she didn't want to move any closer in fear

"Where are you heading out too?" She asks softly messing with her hands as Dan finishes sliding on his shoes standing up straight

"Just a walk." Is all he says before making his way out the door not giving her a chance to reply. His steps are heavy and he keeps his focus on the ground. Turning a corner he leans against a tree leading to the inside of a park and shoves his hands inside of his pockets searching around.

He grabs the same box as usual and pulls it out of his pocket and opening it up. Pulling out a cigarette he lights it as if it where all in one motion. It's nothing new.
Dan lays down on the grass looking up at the sky and thinks.

Maybe I was a little.... Mean? No you're fine. You broke a lot of glass... It's fine I will clean it up later. You didn't even ask if she was hurt.. She's an adult she can take care of herself.

His ongoing argument with him self continued only making I'm more frustrated. He groans sitting up and putting his head in his lap.

You idiot
It's your fault
