"You don't know me. You know one me, just like I know one you. And you can't know every me, and I can't know every you."

I'm just as bad as any drug addict down the road
Different addictions, just as damaging
I'm addicted, I'll admit.
Addicted to pain,
Unfortunately reminds me I'm alive.
Addicted to sorrow,
Happiness doesn't feel right.
Addicted to my wounds,
All that I managed to survive.
Addicted to my scars,
Never liked them fading.
Addicted to horror,
Terror from my own existence.
Addicted to feeling worthless,
I can never be enough
Addicted to the continuous headache
My troubled thoughts swirling around
Addicted to the sleepless nights,
Fallen in love with the quiet darkness
Addicted to the nightmares,
Still better than the reality.
Addicted to being invisible,
It's the art of fading into the walls
Addicted to not eating,
To the numbness from being starved.
Addicted to being hurt from a certain someone,
The ache in my hearts and lungs.
Addicted to a smile,
A hope of a different life
Addicted to dreaming of a world
I'll never wake up to,
Addicted to my addictions,
They are who I am.
They break me, yet they make me.
My stability, in insanity.
If you see me,
Don't try to save me,
Don't try to change me,
Or I'll take you down with me.
It's just who I am.....

Sometimes when you've been in darkness for too long, it becomes a part of you.
You can feel it in your veins, you can taste it in the air around you.
A thousand different kinds of darkness, in one person. That no one knows about.
A mask on the exterior for everyone to see, because no one would bother to look underneath.
These are my addictions, they are my darkness.
I hate them, yet i love them.
They keep me in hope that i might overcome the darkness and find the light.
Because darkness too... can be a gift.
