I stared at Parker with my mouth slightly gaping open. Then I started laughing. "What? What'd I do?" He asked, looking surprised by my reaction. "Nothing!" I said when I stopped. "It's just... the way you were acting it was like your problem was with your math homework or something, that's all."

"Oh......" He started blushing and I laughed again. "Hey, you know what? It's cool. And of course I'll help you! Why wouldn't I?" He smiled. "Thanks." For awhile we just sat there and then I cleared my throat. "So what do you want me to sing?" He stared into his glass and mumbled something. "What?" I asked. "I'm writing a song, it's not done yet, but it will be soon. I've heard you sing before. You're amazing. You would be prefect for the piece." He said looking up and into my eyes, his bright green ones meeting mine. I blushed and found myself staring at the table. "Thanks." I replied quietly.

We sat there awkwardly looking at each other when Parker cleared his throat. "So.... What's new with you?" I smiled and we talked for a little while about life and school. I asked him how things had been going with his girlfriend. He cringed and looked back down at the table again. "We, um, broke up." he said solemnly. I immediately felt bad for asking. Wow Alexa, way to ruin the conversation, I thought. "Oh.... I'm sorry. I didn't know." I said quietly. "It's ok, you don't need to worry, we're both cool now. She was, uh, cheating on me. I found out about two months ago. So I broke it off." I sat there and watched his pained expression as he looked out the window. "That's terrible of her to have done that to you." I finally said. "I'm so sorry." He smiled meekly at me and then looked at the clock. His smile faded and he got up. "I've got to get going. I'll call you when we can start rehearsing See you around."

"Ok, see you!" I called as he walked out the door. When it clicked shut I got up and went into the living room, resuming my peaceful afternoon.

About 25 minutes later I heard my little sister, Katie, get of the bus. She bounded into the room. "Hello!" She said cheerily before skipping off to her room. Literally, skipping. What could she be so happy about? Whatever, I thought. I went back to playing farm frenzy on FaceBook. After awhile my mind wandered to my crush, Emmett. He was a miniature Taylor Lautner, and just as hot. I imagined what it would be like to date him. Probably amazing, I thought.

I played farm frenzy and chatted with some of my friends on FaceBook for another hour or so, when my mom walked through the door. "Hi sweetie! How was your day?" She asked coming into the kitchen and getting out her materials for dinner. "Good. What's for dinner?" I asked. "Spaghetti and meatballs." She replied. "Awesome!" I called as I logged off my laptop and raced upstairs. I crashed onto my bed, daydreaming some more about Emmett. I imagined what it would be like to feel his strong arms wrapped around me in a tight hug. To put my head against his well muscled chest. I sighed contentedly and then decided to practice singing so I got out my music from under my bed.

I sang all the way through Love Song, Rolling in the Deep, Rumor Has It, Hometown Glory, and some other pop music before I ran downstairs to eat. At the table Katie rambled on about her day for all of dinner, but my mind was elsewhere. I plowed through my delicious spaghetti and was done about 15 minutes later. "Is all of your homework done?" Mom questioned as I got up to put my dishes in the sink. "Yes. I'm going to sing some more then go to bed." I replied. "Alright, night Alexa! I'll see you in the morning" She said. "Night Mom!" I called.as I rushed back up to my room. I sang all of my songs again, but this time from memory.

After that I took a shower, put on my pajamas, and curled up under my covers. I clicked off my light and drifted off to sleep, unaware of how soon my normal regular world was about to change.
