Kid

Damn you, Wes. You made her run away.

I threw an angry punch smack dab in the middle of his stupid, fugly face. In return he kicked me in the gut causing to stumble to the ground. Wes placed each foot on both sides of me and stared down at me. He then lifted his right foot up, dangled it in the air for a moment
before stomping down on my stomach. The pain was almost unbearable. I couldn't get up and fight back. He kept stomping on my stomach over and over again until finally I began to cough up blood. He still didn't stop there. He didn't stop after he finished pounding away my appetite for the rest of the week. My face was the next target. Throwing punches at my nose until a warm, red liquid began to trickle out of it. After my nose, he went for both my eyes after my eyes he just start throwing random punches. At my cheeks, chin forehead.

I can't believe I let him do this to me. I let him win. I let him beat me.

He continued to throw at me as my eyes begin to slowly close. I've never lost consciousness. I guess there really is a first time for everything. I heard the faint sound of a bell ring and scattering feet all around me. Wes went inside. His friends went inside. The crowd consisting of about half the school that surrounded us went inside. About hundred or so students were watching me get beat up. And no one did a thing to prevent it.

I tried to do it for you Crona...And I failed you Crona...

Darkness.

Crona

Three classes have passed by and there has been no sign of Kid. We have all of our classes together, and the fact that he has been absent in all of them so far...

I tried so hard to keep my mind from wandering to the fight this morning. His absence shouldn't have anything to do with that. He was holding up a great fight. He didn't have any major injuries when I ran away. Maybe he's in the nurse's office recovering mentally...

"Crona Gorgon," I looked up to see my third hour teacher standing over my desk. "Class is dismissed. You may go to lunch now."

"O-oh r-right sir, s-s-sorry Sir..." I quickly packed up my binder and ran out of the classroom. I didn't even bother to stop at my locker to drop my stuff off. I didn't even bother to grab a lunch to eat from be cafeteria. I ran straight to the nurses office. Once I got to the nurse's room I knocked on the closed door. The door opened with a creak and there in front of me was the nurse.

She had sandy blond hair that formed into a braid in the front. I have to say, I've never seen that kind of hairstyle before. She was wearing a black dress with a white lab coat over it and peaking out of her sleeve I could see some sort of tattoo she seemed to be hiding.

"Yes Crona, what is it?"

"H-how's did y-you know my n-name?"

"Well I am the nurse aren't I? I should know everyone's name in this school." I nodded and got straight to the point.

"Has Death the Kid stopped by? He was in a terrible fight this morning and he hasn't showed up in any classes yet."

"No I'm afraid he has not. I'm sure if he was badly injured he called his parents to pick him up."

"But-" I probably shouldn't say anything about the fact that he has no parents. If he did go home I'm sure he's capable of walking the short distance. "Thank you, nurse."

"Have a nice day, little one."

I took a big breath as the nurse escaped back into her office and began running down the hallway again my eyes glanced up to the clock on the wall. There's still twenty minutes left of lunch. That should be enough time to run to Kids house to see if he's there and run back. I threw open the schools front doors.

I didn't have to take more than a couple steps outside to see the truly horrendous sight.

I ran over to the lifeless looking body I knew as Death the Kid. I screamed bloody murder and shook him as tears welded up in my eyes.

His face black and blue. And I didn't see a single speckle of his soft, pale skin.

"Kid!" I shook him softly. His eyes didn't open, not a single muscle of his moved. "Kid you gotta wake up! You gotta move! Come on Kid, just open your eyes!" I shook him again with more force. By now I started to question if he was even still alive. I layed my head on his chest in hopes of hearing a heartbeat. Nothing. I didn't hear a thing.

No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no...it can't be possible. Wes couldn't have the strength to kill him. He can't die from a fist fight...I refuse it to be possible...

I checked his wrist for a pulse. Nothing. I placed two fingers on his neck to check for a pulse. Nothing. I let out a heart wrenching sob.

What do I do!?!?!

I hesitated at first, but decided to pull his phone out of his pocket. The screen was cracked from the impact of Kid getting pushed to the ground, but thank goodness the phone still worked. I dialed 911 and waited impatiently for someone to pick up on the other side of the line.

"Hello, this is 911. What seems to be the emergency?"

"H-hi, my b-boy-...my friend got in a-a f-f-fist fight a-at school and he's c-c-c-covered in his own blood and h-he doesn't have a pulse!"

"Alright ma'am, calm down I will send officials over immediately. What is the location?"

"New York h-h-highschool."

"Ambulance will be over within a few minutes."

"Thank y-you..." I hung up and began to sob uncontrollably.

(Haha. My friend called me a bitch for this chapter :P but she still loves me<3)
