I wake in a white hospital room. Right off the bat my head begins to ache. I see a teal balloon in the corner and a vase with a few flowers. I see my mother asleep on the chair beside my bed, and my clothes and shoes on the bedside table. I feel woozy and luckily the nurse comes in minutes after I wake.
" Hi. I'm Nurse Ruby. How do you feel?" The nurse said as she looked down at me in my hospital bed.
" What happened to me?" I say as I clutch my head in my hands.
" Sweetie, Molly punched you. You passed out and were bleeding. Luckily your friend, Kit I think was her name came and got you here. She was here earlier but she had to go to school. She filled me in before she left. She said she would be back after school." My mom said sweetly as she rubbed my head. I moaned.
" You can be checked out now. Your head will hurt for a little while but you will heal. You are a brave one McKenna. You must have done something real great to get that to the head." The nurse pointed to my head bandage as she left the room. That made me remember what Molly did. My mom got me checked out and I went home with her. I saw my younger brother, Zack, as we watched one of his shows while I relaxed on the couch. But one thing still hung over my head that I could't get out: I'm going to have to face Molly tomorrow at school and learn my fate.
